If a train is moving in one direction (i. e. east or west) do you avoid sitting in the opposite direction the train is going?

I don't remember a train with regular seats facing backwards. But I've sat at a table in the club car facing backwards. That was 48 years ago and I never thought about it before until you asked this question. So it didn't stand out as feeling weird or anything. What I really remember about it was how expensive the meal on a train was.
I have not been on a train in over 20 years. I am planning on it soon though. I didn't know that this was an option. Last I was on a train the seats all faced forward.
Have you ever been on an Amtrak train that had backwards facing seats? I'll be going on Amtrak.
Yeah. I try to avoid sitting sideways, and try to stay close to where the bus/train doesn't move around a lot.
Otherwise I get severely motion sick.
Nah i’ll sit either way but i can't stare out the window long because i get dizzy

Not sure. It’s been a long time since I’ve been near a train.
I prefer sitting forward, but if there's a window seat facing backwards and none forward, I'll take that.
Trains with a first class that have 1:1 across from each other, I let my partner decide which seat they want. Otherwise if I'm alone and it's general cab, I don't care.
Yeah makes me feel ill
Yeah, usually.
Yes, I would do so
A very seldom ride on a train
No, go with the flow
