Why some guys try to get a girl 's attention and then become uninterested as soon as the girl pays attention to them?

I am very pretty, tall and sucessful. People told me I am hot.

I experienced this maybe 3 times in my life. A guy starts paying attention to me while I didn't even know he existed. I am focused on my work. He continues to flirt and tease. Then acts of kindness starts. I start noticing him. After a while, I feel I like him. Then as soon as I show any signs of interest he runs away. And it happened that I got really confused. I asked him about his feeling (not introgating) or asked him out for coffee. He would deny the whole thing or say no to the coffee.

What is wrong here?

Most of the time, when that happens, it's either because

1. The guy decides the reality of being with her isn't worth it.

or

2. The woman's behavior changed, and the way she acts in romantic interactions is wack.
