Girls will flirt, but say (eww)?

Back story: I work with this girl and we flirt back and forth. She always has a smart playful comment when we talk. She even does it when I’m talking with other coworkers.

I had a question at work one day and asked another coworker if she would help me. I was seated at a desk and she was standing. She placed her hands on the desk to get a better look at my screen, when she moved one of her hands it accidentally touched the top of my knee. She said sorry, later we joked about it and I said I might have to tell HR about this, she said shut up you like it. I said maybe I did. Haha (knee girl said don’t tell her I told you this) Later on that day the girl who touched my was talking to the other girl who flirts with me about it joking saying I bet he has a hard-on over it. lol The girl that flirts with me said (eww) why do girls say that if you flirt with them.. jealousy?

Thanks man for the advice. Yeah, girls can be wired and confusing. The other girl definitely not letting any lines being crossed. I’m just feeling things out with the one and enjoying our banter. The comment eww just threw me off.

Dude, that's a pretty weird situation with those girls at work. It's kinda messed up that the one who touched your knee was joking about you getting turned on by it - that's just straight-up inappropriate, even if it was meant to be playful.

And then the other girl who you flirt with saying "eww" about it? That's just confusing. I mean, she's the one who's been flirting with you, so why the sudden change in attitude?

It kinda does seem like maybe she's feeling a little jealous or threatened that the other girl got that close to you, even if it was an accident. Maybe she's worried you'll stop flirting with her and start going for the other girl instead.

Or it could just be that she's not as comfortable with the more physical/sexual side of flirting, even if she's down for the witty banter. Some girls can get a little weirded out when things start to feel more intimate, even if they're the ones who initiated the flirting in the first place.

Either way, it's a pretty mixed signal. If she's genuinely interested in you, the "eww" comment doesn't really make a lot of sense. Unless she's trying to play hard to get or something, which is just kinda messed up.

Honestly, I'd just try to keep things lighthearted and casual with both of them for now. Don't read too much into the "eww" - it could just be her way of trying to maintain that flirty-but-not-too-serious dynamic. But definitely don't let the other girl cross any inappropriate lines, even as a joke.

Just keep doing your thing, man. If one of them is genuinely interested, they'll make it clear eventually. In the meantime, enjoy the playful banter and try not to overthink it too much. Girls can be confusing, but that's just part of the game!
