u 1 yAn islander boy called Turoko. He was a good friend of mine as a kid. He became my first “boyfriend” at age 7, lol! After a week, he kissed me on the cheek and broke up with me. A day later he had a new girlfriend in our class. It turned out he did that to every girl in the class 😂 “date” them for a week, kiss their cheek and then move on to the next girl. But I had a crush on him for years. Even these days I think about it sometimes, he moved out of the country when we were 10, I hope he’s doing well.

There was a cute, shy, introverted boy. I think his name was Rohit or Rohan. I can't remember 😭 We went to same school until I passed 4th standard and went to different school. I think I had a crush on him when I was in second or third standard. He would look at me from distance and whenever I'd look back, he would look away while blushing. This kept on happening for a while, lol. He even tried to come and talk to me. He was bit nervous as he stammered a bit and was loss at words. I was shy and reserved when I was little so I would rather avoid talking to most people especially him as having him around gave me butterfly stomach feeling so I just gave him a cold one word responses (didn't intend to but happened) and kept our conversation super short as my heart was beating very fast, so I cut it off to avoid making it obvious that I like him 🤣

1 yIt was this girl back in high school, AP Psychology, when I was in the 10th grade, 16 years old. Part of the influence could've been that Psychology was my favorite class, and the teacher for that class was also my favorite teacher. That and I had an assumption that AP kids were more intelligent than the average kid.
This girl, looking back, she was above average in looks but not that attractive looking back. Like definitely nowhere near ugly, but I really hyped her up in my head.
My attraction to her was low-key kind of creepy. I was obsessed with her for like all of 10th grade, an entire year. And I had only talked to her like twice the whole year.
As for her personality... I barely knew much about it, but from what I observed on the outside from interactions with other classmates, she seemed sort of chill-ish. She was definitely the preppy popular girl type, athletic as well, also a cheerleader. She seemed polite, always saying please and thank you. She was kind of goofy sometimes. She seemed generally outgoing.
I didn't know her personally at all though. This was the only basis I had.
Either way, I also screwed up things really bad with her.
So she had held the door for me several times, like I don't know, 3 or 4 times, and I was so nervous I forgot to say thank you.
Then the like the 5th time I finally built up the courage to say thank you, and very loudly in front of everyone she screamed: "OH MY GOD THANK YOU FOR SAYING THANK YOU! FOR ONCE IN YOUR LIFE AFTER AN ENTIRE YEAR OF BEING RUDE YOU LEARNED TO BE A DECENT PERSON! THANK YOU ONCE AGAIN, HAVE A GREAT AND WONDERFUL DAY, AND I HOPE NO ONE KICKS YOUR ASS GOING FORWARD!!!"
And she wasn't joking either. She was genuinely mad.
I also tried sending friend requests to her on Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter... expectedly, she blocked my ass, lol.
I basically handled everything in the worst, most creepy way possible.
You can say she overreacted, but I DID have like a solid 3 to 4 times to say thank you properly. That was 100% on me.

1 yEwwww this guy called Matthew in secondry school. He never noticed me until we turned 15 and were both on the the thick table together at school. He was a good footballer and all round athlete at school so he got a lot of girls from that.
We used to stair at each other through all are classes and lunch time but I wanted him to ask me out and he was too shy to.
I gave up and relised I didn't want a boyfriend in high-school.
He later messaged me when I was 21 and I just met my future husband also named Matthew. It was the typical Facebook messager fuck boy shit and he'd just broken up with a friend of my mine. I completely ignored him and when he confronted me in public I told him he was 10 years too late.
Plus looking back he really wasn't attractive at all and know he's gotten fat and so he only dates fat weird girls

1 yMy first ever crush was in 3rd grade and his name was Austin he was funny, creative, smart and we were actually good friends and I kept my feelings for a secret for the entire school year anyway fast forward to the first day of 4th grade and I didn't see Austin in my class or the other 4th grade class so I asked my best friend to see if she knew anything and she told me that he moved during the summer and I was sad anyway fast forward again and it's the day of the arts festival which is this thing my elementary school had every year and he was there helping out and I think I was talking to a friend during recess and he came over and said hi to me and he did it again when it was getting close to time to go home he came to my classroom to say goodbye and gave me a hug

1 yHer name was Hilda. I was 14. She is the only lost love in my life because I was too shy at the time. I don't know what she is doing these days. I hope good things.
I've tried to reach out if only for nostalgia 2 or 3 times but haven't reconnected.

11 moOh, there’ve been so many. Probably a petite brunette named Bobby. She was badass. Like dating college guys at 14… We talked quite a bit, but never “went out”. Almost certainly a missed opportunity. She could’ve taught me so much at that age 😂

10 moMy first real first crush was in 3rd grade with this quiet boy with dark black hair and porcelain skin named Evan, he would always sit next to me and would rarely talk but I could tell he was smart and emotionally intelligent as we also shared the same birthday which made him even more unforgettable as he brought cupcakes and noticing that I didn't have anything for my birthday offered half of the cupcakes, but I couldn't take them so we went around the halls to give the cupcakes to our favorite teachers and school employees.

m 1 yA polygamous 9yo girl named Florence, she had three different and simultaneous crushes. The three of us were getting along well despite sharing the same SO.
I didn't develop any specific taste for polygamy after that. Just saying...

1 yI can't even remember her name. I was 5. She had an Eye patch and she was my twin brothers girlfriend. She tied my shoes and punched an Indian girl in the mouth because she shoved me into a play refrigerator and wouldn't let me out.

She was my best girlfriend. Then my parents got divorced and I was sent to my auntie and uncle. In Philadelphia. I'm the reverse fresh prince.
1 yHer name was Molly. She played on a summer softball league with my sister, but we went to different schools. She was one year younger than me and one summer I saw her and thought "she is kind of cute. The next summer I saw her, and I thought "holy moley!"She had developed a body during that schoolyear, and she may have been a cute 12-year-old, but she was a beautiful 13-year-old.

10 ReplyDefine "real". I had several crushes throughout my teens, even made a move on some. Didn't get anywhere though, because I always wanted a neutral environment. I feel really stupid about that strategy nowadays with hindsight.
