Was my guitar tutor flirting? if not, what was it?

my guitar teacher was staring at me during the whole session. not in a creepy way, but i felt like i was the only thing he could look at. and it was pretty noticeable. I'm 16 and he's in his 20s so I don't think he was flirting. but what was it?

Girls think everything a guy does means he's interested in her. A girl and guy could sit alone in a room together and don't even know each other, and maybe not even speaking or looking at each other, and she will still think he's into her simply because he's a guy alone in a room with her.

Maybe he was watching you because he was monitoring how you were playing your guitar in particular? Or maybe you just perceived that he was looking at you more than anyone (assuming it was a class)? If he does it again and again, it would be something to be concerned about. Just give it more time.

well if he was monitoring me specefically i would understand, and if i were facing his direction it would make sense. and i'm not the type of irl to think a guy is interested in me, i have very low self esteem that even when i find out someoene has a crush on me i don't believe it. the teacher didn't take his eyes off of me, i wasn't a beginner. actually when my beginner friend needed explanation he would explain it to her while facing me... and please stop with the prejudice.

That's not prejudice. I tend to be doubtful of posts like these because as I said, girls always think a guy is into them for everything.

BUT you have given extra details that do convince me that he was being weird, yes. Especially with "when my beginner friend needed explanation he would explain it to her while facing me" He's in his 20s gawking at a 16 year-old and that is not cool at all.
