Should I offer a drink or chocolate to the man I like?

There's a guy I really like at the prep school I go to. We've talked a few times before, but we're not very close. We're 19 years old and both preparing for university. In fact, our desired majors are very similar. I run into him during breaks, but I can't seem to strike up a conversation because I'm embarrassed and can't think of a topic. If we run into him tomorrow during study time, I plan on offering him chocolate, a drink, or something. Do you think he'll like it, or would it be a very childish move? :')

If you are going to go that far, ask if he would like to get a coffee or whatever. That would be better than just going up to him with chocolate or a drink and be like "here ya go".
