ya it basically says it but the guy I like started flirting with my good friend while I was talking to him. he just turned around when I was about to ask him something and started flirting with her. she was shocked and stared at me he, was talking pretty loud so idk, what do you think?

A shallow guy would, a more serious guy wouldn't - unless he's extremely insecure about himself and/or you. Either way I'd confront him.

As a guy, I wouldn't want to get the girl I like to get jealous for any reason if I'm serious about her - what's the point: the attention I'd get from her then comes from a negative reason.

Besides, most guys don't get when most girls get jealous - only when they get mad..girls are still somewhat of a mystery there

Yeah he def did this to make you jealous. Its like to make sure you do like him and he is getting your attention. Its a bit silly but sometimes guys do these things as they are not picking up signals from the girl they like. Make it obvious you like him, he then needs to stop. If he carries on doing this even after you have made it clear he likes you, move on from this guy.

I'm not a guy but this has happened to me before. And I think guys just do it to get your attention and see what your reaction will be, and obviously if you get jealous they'll assume you like them. That's what I think anyway.

No. Guys do things in order to do those things. Generally, there isn't a layer of indirection like girls like to put their intentions through.
