Should I make an obvious move or will it backfire?

there's a guy who works a different shift. We happened to work the same shift once and he introduced himself. His name is Michael.
He came by our job a few weeks back after the standard work party which I couldn’t go to because I was at work to talk to a couple of his friends.
While there I didn’t think he was going to talk to me but then he was like “hey Megan I didn’t see you there. How’s your night going?” And small talked with me and then started another small talk convo with me while there. He eventually was like “well I’ve overstayed my welcome” and smiled and motioned bye and I smiled and waved bye also.
The next day I was scrolling through LinkedIn when I got a notification that he viewed my LinkedIn profile.
A while back at my friends house I decided to add him as a connection on LinkedIn.
He added me back about a week later. A few of us went out to a bar late after work. One of my female colleagues who I’m acquaintances with and I talked the whole time and Michael and her are friends through the guy she has a crush on. Michael kept teasing the female colleague and they were playful. I asked her if there was anything going on and she said no - she has a crush on another guy friend. Michael didn’t talk to me the whole night. His college roommate was there with us too visiting. When me and the girl talked about men we liked he kinda kept glancing over. She said he might be shy but he’s 22.
I come early on Wednesdays and so I saw him briefly as he was leaving last week and after he was done producing his show he walked out of the studio and past my desk and was like “hey Megan how are you?” And I answered. Then today is also Wednesday and he did the same and walked past my desk on the way out of the studio and loudly whispered and was like “hey Megan!” Is he just being nice? I think there’s a possibility one of our mutual friends told him I was interested or found him attractive but I don’t know. Is he being nice or showing subtle interest
