Should there be a colour code to let guys know you're safe to approach?

A common question on GAG is, "How do I approach women?" Guys get confused as to when it's appropriate to apply women or get frustrated when they're constantly rejected.

Now back in the old days, gay men had a handkerchief code that advertised what sexual acts they were into and who they were looking for.

So would this work for women? Say for example, red could mean looking for a boyfriend, must be 6ft. Blue could mean must earn over £30,000 to approach me. Obviously you could combine colours, red and yellow = must be 6ft with own home and so on.

Well... I brought up a similar idea with CPR some time ago. Since women are now suing lifeguards for giving them mouth-to-mouth without their consent, men are going to stop applying first aid to women in need. One way for at least some women to survive would be to wear an accessory with the implied meaning of "I consent to being given first aid by men". Once a man takes a photo of the woman with the accessory, He could give Her first aid without worrying about going to jail for touching Her without Her consent - the photo would serve as a proof of consent in court if She sued.

Given how unhinged the dating scene is, it might be useful to set up a code similar to what You propose. Any "expectations" codes would be instant turn-off, though, at least for me. I am not an ATM.

I was just thinking that about the color blue before reading the rest of your question. l I’m over 6 feet tall and I own my own house and the mortgage is all paid off. Now I would like to come up with a color code for you women you must work on a sheep farm or at least handle sheep, volunteer work or something and you must have white hair and be attractive, If you want to hang with Mr. Iron Man. Not really , safety isn’t about color, it’s about context and behavior.

Signs of consent and openness come from communication, body language, and mutual respect, not what you wear. Assuming a color code would be misleading and reduce personal responsibility on both sides.

Boundaries and awareness are the real guides.
