I was at work, and this guy asked me a question and when i looked up from my cash register he was staring at me to my surprise, he did not look away. I kept looking at him and we didn't stop looking at each other. He has also smiled at me multiple times. I guess my question is obvious. But also since I only ever seem to see him at work. And I am interested, how would I best be able to get this going with him (as to not mess up my employment).

You never ever flirt at your work place. This is a taboo because your employer does not pay you to fool around but to work.

If you want to start something with him, then you do it after you end your shift. He can wait for you outside the building and then, once you are not on your shift, you are free to do whatever you want. But I would wait until you are off premises because someone might see you and still report you if you are misbehaving on the company premises.

What you do in your free time is not your employer's business as long as your work performance is not declining as a result of your time spent outside of work with customers.
