I was at a new place for dinner. It wasn't particularly packed when I went in, but since I was on my own they seated me at the counter with four other people. I was waiting for my order but one (much older) guy was standing too close and stayed there, crowding me, tapping the back of my chair every time he made a point to the gal he was speaking with. His (even older) friend arrives and starts doing the same thing till I turned and glared at them.
I didn't say a word. They didn't apologize. But they stopped annoying me.
The guy sitting next to me started telling me "you could have hit up both those guys tonight" which I thought was gross, but he kept teasing me about it as we had our dinner. Smh. He insisted that a guy doesn't make ANY sort of nonverbal gesture like that unless he's purposely aiming to get the woman's attention... But I argued that it was just two guys with poor manners who were oblivious to the fact that I was sitting in that chair... just a sign of the times as far as how rude and self-centered people are today.
Which assessment do you think is correct? The guys were horndogs trying to get my attention or they were both just obliviously rude?

Obliviously rude
Random question: where were you eating? I’ve never heard of any place where you have to sit with strangers other than a hibachi restaurant.
I think oblivious and rude, otherwise they'd have tried some more direct
