But should all supermarkets bring out pink baskets to help shoppers find love?

The Ai that generated this image assumed that exposing skin = fishing for encounters. Because all other people are fully covered. How sexist!!! ㅤ
😂 I actually think it’s a cute idea! Sometimes people are interested in each other but nobody wants to make the first move because they’re afraid of being rejected or misreading the situation. A pink basket makes the intention a little clearer without anyone having to say a word.
But I wouldn’t want every supermarket to make it a thing people feel pressured to participate in. Some people just want to buy their groceries and go home in peace. 😂
Still, if I were single and open to meeting someone, I’d probably carry one just for the fun of it. You never know, your future husband might be standing in the cereal aisle! 😂💕
I only see one problem with the pink basket idea. What if you are a guy but a straight one and not a gay person?
That pink basket may signal to the wrong gender that you are available and may cause more issues than it is trying to solve.
Perhaps they should include one of those sliding mechanism on the basket like those found on washrooms or conference room with the "occupied or vacant" text when sliding on the appropriate text but saying "♂️" or "♀️". That should perhaps help finding the right gender and avoiding potential confusion as to the gender desired.
Of course, that does not solve the issue of "in-between" genders 🤷
It's for ladies to carry the link baskets so that guys can approach the ladies and the pink basket would be silent and consent that they could be approached by men.
They are not thinking of other alternatives
The whole reason men don't approach women is because most women are waiting for Henry Cavil or some other tall, handsome, wealthy man to hit on them, which means they are going to immediately reject 99.8% of other men anyway.
Most men have figured out that cold approaches are just a humiliation ritual now, so they stopped playing that game. So, now, it's women who get to approach men and enjoy being rejected, and who have to have some kind of personality if they want to be taken seriously. And they don't like that at all, but they only have themselves to blame.

I used to work with a guy that painted all his tools bright pink. Nobody ever hit on him to my knowledge, but he boasted that nobody ever stole his tools again. I think that was his only goal.
The Finns are creative. This is marketing heaven.
This is interesting, and I suspect it is a grocery located in a part of a city with lots of single people. What a great marketing idea for them.
However, the option " Fantastic, now I get to reject loads of desperate guys" is telling.
As is your comment, "Remember girls. If he's got supermarket own brands in his basket he's too poor to date". Not thrifty, not frugally saving for a home, but "too poor". You ladies really have to learn to look beyond the superficial flash.
You told all too many men to get lost, in very nasty ways all too often, and we got the message - we don't bother anymore.
Unless you put a giant sign with an explanation next to them, there will be plenty of people grabbing them who don't want to get approached.
Personally I'm not going to the supermarket for boyfriend shopping, but maybe seeing what they have in their basket could help with the selection process 🙃
Having "Basket Wednesday" from 6pm to closing, could be a nice. No need for baskets to be pink, just people come in, pick up baskets and see if anyone approaches male or female for a shopping chat... I come here often, been looking to date... stuff like that... Nice ploy to get in shoppers and daters..
It's a cute idea; we used to have ways to signal to guys that we were open to being approached. Sadly, those days are long since gone. So I think this is a good thing, but at a grocery store? When I've got a laxative in my cart... Yeah, not sure this is the best place for such a thing.
I guess that's why they have the pink basket get the regular version when buying laxatives.
I'll also say those bins are super cute. I'd like to use one even though I'm married, new mom lol
I don't know about shopping for a woman while I'm shopping for eggs, bread, and milk. For some reason it seems like mixing two things that don't belong together. I have a hard time believing women see places like a supermarket or a gym as a place to get hit on by men.
What's a pink basket got to do with it?
"Remember girls. If he's got supermarket own brands in his basket he's too poor to date." That's a really fucking ignorant approach!! Maybe he likes that stuff better, maybe he's doing his part to support the store or is just trying to save money rather than squandering it on the high-priced shit that's not even as good and probably has shit in it you shouldn't be eating in the first place!
I think it’s a good idea, that way if you’re not carrying a pink basket guys will know not to approach you
It’s good to have a cucumber when you’re alone 😂 (jk)
But I’m a man. What kind of a basket am I gonna get to show that I’m single to be approached?
You don't need a special basket. You're a man, and that means you want to be approached. Period, end of story. LOL
@loveslongnails i’m just having fun with the question Asker
so was I lol
@loveslongnails At my expense?
Apparently both sexes use the pink basket system
Great idea. Except do you need different colours for different orientation? With 150 headers now it may get a little confusing
Probably better than the cucumber approach. That’s likely to make a lot of guys insecure.
Ouch 😂
Why are pinks not taking the survey?
In terms of signalling intent I think the girls nipples in the first pic are doing a much better job than the basket.
Nothing can encourage me to approach, especially not the "pink basket" (I'm not into girly girls).
I like dominant, assertive, self-confident, sporty type of girls, who prefer to do the approaching.
Nice move but won't work out with me because i don't approach women just cause they are carrying a pink basket, also i get approached from women in general...
Costco is a wild place... they just come out of nowhere
In theory it seems like an okay idea. I'd be interested to see how it works out.
I don’t know about Finland, but maybe men in general just don’t want to approach even if they know you’re single. I think this is getting pathetic if you have to do something like this.
I don't need any pink basket for that. It just happens regardless.
Supermarket own brands are often as good as the real thing. Why pay more?
They are the same thing. Supermarkets don’t own the manufacturers or distributors. The labels are changed in the machine and the exact same product is cranked out. You’re literally only paying for the ad campaigns of brand names when you pay more.
@Chazmatazz269 Exactly. It all grows on the same tree.
I voted for the last option. 🤔 But let me know if it actually works! 😂
I'm pretty sure it ain't gonna be the hot chicks spilling out of gyms carrying pink baskets
Won't women just start doing the "I use the pink basket for myself. Not to signal to men that I want their attention." thing? Just like they did with dressing sexy.
I don't see any other baskets there. Do you have to use a cart if you don't want to be bothered?
No , not interested
What happened to carrying pineaples around.
Do they have a basket that says Foxtrot Oscar
I thought you had other plans for that cucumber!
I would carry one but not for that reason
Nice question from you.
I bet its not very popular!
It's a good campaign for youth to find a partner.
