Does a hi with a big smile and eye contact mean anything?

So there's this girl I like. We get along but most of out chats we are either arguing playfully or teasing each other. She has told me that I annoy her quite often (she has a smile when she says it) but still, she says it a lot. Today I just thought that maybe I was being annoying so I played it cool. We were outside the classroom waiting for the previous class to be over and I got there and was leaning on a pillar. I felt she was looking at me but I didn't want to "annoy" her so I didn't say anything and all of I sudden I looked up and she said "HI" with a big grin on her face and looking right into my eyes. So we started talking after that and I told her I was gonna give her a day without being annoying and she smiled and said "why can't every day be like this?" So my question is, does she really find me that unappealing or the hi and big smile means she is just teasing me?

I would have to assume that she is attracted to you... but being "attracted" and wishing to start a relationship are two very different things.

The teasing is positively a sign (when done with a playful undertone); as is seeking your eyesight and attention, then by reacting with such a bold expression of greeting.

Ultimately, you will either need to make the first move, or wait for more obvious actions on her part.

Well that's good to know. I was with the firm intention to just mind my own business but when I saw that smile, I couldn't just sit there lol. So do girl tend to call guys annoying just because? That's what bugs me. She smiles when she says it but still, I know some people smile like that when they are nervous but they are actually being serious

It is a way of flirting, it is a way of finding out whether or not they are in someone's affection without stirring nerves through being direct (that not all girls practice, mind.) It shows a sense of humor, it shows that you are not terribly timid-- and if the playfulness is returned by the subject of attention, a little light turns on in confirmation, that will potentially grow.

Seems like she likes you. From what I can see as a girl, she's being really flirty (teasing). She does find you appealing-the playful arguments and teasing. If she didn't find you appealing, she would most likely have not smiled at you and said "Hi."

So her telling me I'm very annoying when I do talk to her and initiate contact is just teasing me? Its hard to tell because she seems so at ease with everybody else but with me she looks all nervous.

Is she telling you that you're annoying in a flirty way? If so, then yes she is flirting with you. However you mentioned that when she sees you she's all nervous. This could be a sign that she gets "butterflies" in her stomach we she sees you (as in she has a crush on you). Not that she's scared of you. I get the "butterflies" all the time when I see the guy I like. :)
