How did your relationship start?

I have never had a girlfriend and I would like to know from both guys and girls how your relationship started.

I'm really not a shy guy, I've met and know a lot of girls from my classes and clubs but it seems like I'm having trouble differentiating myself from friend and possibly someone more.

My current boyfriend ; he's had a crush on me since nineth grade, but had low self esteem so he wouldn't talk to me. I was dating the quarterback when he finally got the courage to ask for my number. I broke up with the quarterback, the summer after I graduated... Late August I think? I was a wreck, and was depressed , not eating, partying every night, and surrounding myself with guys. I had a couple drunk hookups, and was basically looking for a rebound. He asked me for my number again. I didn't really care that he and my ex had been friends, and I wanted revenge so we (drunk) texted for a couple of days, and I went to hang out with him at 2am. We sort of hooked up, and from then on just did that a few times. we started talking more, and we just agreed to date. Things kind of fell into place. He loves me, and I'm very glad he's more rhan just a rebound.

I don't think there's a right or wrong way to start a relationship, as long as the person is right for you.

My current one started when I met him through a mutual friend, who worked with him. I worked close to him as well so I saw him sometime when I was with my friend at her work. But when I met him I was kinda in the place of being in another relationship, but it didn't work out and 2 days later he asked out my best friend. I was so pissed I was complaining to my best friend at her work and he made some nice comments about me, but not over the top. I got his # from my friend (after he told me I should) and we started texting and a week later he asked me out and I said yes. I was hesitant to say yes because I wasn't sure about my feelings for him, but I went out with him and we got along so well, surprisingly well for me, that I agreed to be in a relationship with him :)

This guy isn't my boyfriend yet, but we've been on one date and we seem to be going in that direction. I met him at work; we are both drivers at a pizza place. And from the start, something about him made it completely impossible for me to think of him as just a friend. I can't explain it, but whenever he smiles at me, his eyes just pierce right through me and I stop thinking for a moment.

It feels very much like a romantic comedy with us. :) He's had a rough early life and he has baggage, and for this reason my parents don't want me dating him. But he's respectful and he's a good person, so I'm determined to give him a chance.

i met him at camp when I was younger. we used MSN to keep in touch maybe once or twice a year and we`d have maybe a 3-5 hr conversation. he lived 3 hrs away. then a few years back after March break he saw my florida pictures on Facebook and then saw me on MSN and started messaging me. then he went on every night and started talking to me daily. after a couple months we started talking on the phone and he bought a cell so he could text me. then my grandparents were coming over and theyre from where he lives so he caught a ride with them and came to see me. we hung out for a weekend and started dating. we have been dating long distance since and its been over 2 1/2 years since we first started dating that weekend.

Start? That's hard to say...I could say that it started when we first met working on a project with a mutual friend or I could say it started when we first developed a sort of banter while working on said project or it could be when I sent him a friend request on Facebook (thats when he decided to ask me out apparently) or it could be when he actually asked me out (over Facebook because he didn't have my number yet) or was it our first date?

I don't know if I could say that there was a definite point in time where it started.

Honestly? Shockingly enough, a stupid dating site called "okcupid.com". I had been on there for a good while and dated some total d***s. Then this dorky kid messaged me on a whim and we started talking, I was literally the first person he ever talked to off of the site, like texted and called and stuff. Anyway I wasn't feeling it I thought he was weird and annoying, however at the time I made a bitchy move and after my jerkoff date for the night cancelled on me, I decided I would go grab a beer with the dorky kid. I fell for him instantly after talking in person and he and I have been crazy for each other ever since. We spend every single day together and love every minute of it.

On a dating app, I initiated. It’s not the typical relationship, but we make time for each other when we can. Both single parents; He works a lot and has kids. Two years with some ups and downs. I've learned a lot about myself and will enjoy it while it lasts.
