When a guy and a girl can tease each other back and forth for a long time, what does it usually mean?

So there's this girl I know, we are not "officially" friends, but we talk a lot. Every time we talk, its the most fun I have with anybody. We tease each other and throw sarcasm at each other, but we have all these great lines and comebacks, its almost as if it was scripted, but it isn't (weird huh) like anything we say at each other, we turn it around and make fun of it or twist in in seconds and we keep going back and forth. We argue playfully all the time and people who hear us always crack up because its funny, but neither of us really laughs, its very deadpan (we both know we are kidding) but it looks serious lol. I know I like her and that's why I'm "on" all the time when I talk to her, could she feel the same?

same thing here bro we make fun of the other so much. I think its a way to secretly hide/ express feelings kinda like hiding behind something for safety to avoid being hurt

Yeah. It kinda feels like a comic routine where you already know what the other person is gonna say before you say it or you kinda set things up for a well times comment. Its great.

its great but also frustrating because they are walling themselves from you

The way I think about it at times is that if she was comfortable and all nice (like this girl acts with everybody) she would probably see me as a "harmless" guy (or friend). This girl has never had a boyfriend so the fact that she is walling herself makes me think she doesn't want me to see what's behind that wall.

well I think the walling is more to protect ourselves from rejection rather than to hide something bad about herself from you
