Girls, how do you like to be greeted?

The title says it all!

I know when you meet someone new, there's usually no physical contact, but what about afterwards? How do you like to be greeted the 2nd, 3rd, 4th, etc., time you meet a guy? To me, soft handshakes seem a little weird, but hugs seem a little personal and are awkward when the other person doesn't suspect it.

Any advice from the girls on how you like to be greeted is appreciated! Thanks.

I would say something like slightly brushing up against her shoulder or something, try poking or tickleing her, all girls love when guys pay attention to detail, if she laughs and enjoy's the tickleing or poking, the stick with that for a while, not long, because it will get old. If this fails, try to soothe her shoulder or back, if she seems to be aching somewhere ask her if you can pop her back, or rub her shoulders (this is usually used AFTER you are pretty comfortable with each other) just show her you care, and that you pay attention to what she is saying...detail is very important in future relationships, because if you don't pay attention to the way she likes to be touched, or talked to, then you are looking for a break up

If it's a girl that you're somewhat interested in and got a long with the first time that you met, def give her a hug! But if not just say hey what's up or something lol. but I think that you could never go wrong with hugs!

hmmm I guess it would depend on the situation, the person and how you feel about them. If it's someone you like or have a crush on then maybe just a smile and wave would be nice. or even a gentle touch on the upper arm and smile. I would personally save the hug for when you leave. I know I've met guys even first times where they've given me a hug before they leave. I though it was so cute and very intimate (in a friendly way) I also really enjoy men who when greeting will do a very light hug with a kiss on the cheek. It's viewed as a normal greeting in other countries and maybe she'll think your internationally cultured ;)

I'm probably not like most girls, but this is what I like. The first time we meet, give me a big smile and a bear hug. Every time we meet after that, I'll happily initiate hugs with you because now that barrier is broken. I love hugs like nobody else; I've been known to hug people before getting their name.

Here's where I got started doing that: I read a book that explained "people like dogs because their love is unconditional, and every time you walk into the room they jump up like you're the best thing that walked the earth." The point being that being enthusiastic and showing that you're happy to see somebody does a pretty good job of warming people up to you fast. The way I see it, hugging right away is more effective than being shy and aloof and awkward (which I also tend to do, haha). Again, though, not all girls like this!

I like a guy who gives a friendly smile and just gays a nice friendly hello, how are you? After that the conversation should flow if the girl wants to talk to you :). Other times you should be ablke to greet without thinking because you'll become closer to her. It's good if you just talk to her like you would talk to your friends. After that you could also joke around more :D. Be friendly and polite :). She will like that.

If you really like the girl I think take her hand and kiss it, that's romantic. I don't know if all girls with agree with that the first time meeting them, though.
