What does falling off the deep end for someone mean?

Does fallen off the deep end mean your in love with the person... I was just wondering what it meant because I was told my boyfriend has fallen off the deep end for me...

lol, teenagers these days... The actual phrase is "Going off the deep end" and it means a dive straight down to rock bottom. Say a pastor's son goes from being the poster boy in the community to getting into drugs and crime. They would say he "went off the deep end" - it means going from something good, to an unexpected drop into something bad. Whoever used it probably meant he was falling in love with you, or that he's crazy about you.

Y'know, that phrase implies that someone is not being reasonable. He's in love with you but not being realistic about it, implying that you won't reciprocate his feelings, or that he's getting too deeply attached to you...it comes off a little like a WARNING to him!

There is what Kelassin said. In my mind though, gone off the deep end means you've gone crazy. Losing your mind. So I think he was saying he is crazy about you. It's similar to the term, "gone 'round the bend"

Well, "off the deep end" is kind of like 'past the point of no return.' So, keeping that in mind, what they're saying is that he's fallen for you /really/ hard.
