I was at the lake last weekend with my family and boyfriend. We met up with one of my mothers coworkers & her family. Her son told me I didn't look old enough to be drinking beer, then proceeded to tell me "you look like jail". I was a little offended, I mean is that a compliment or not?

Then later his mother told mine that he found me attractive and was trying to impress me the entire time...?

So is calling someone jail bait supposed to be a compliment or how am I meant to interpret that comment?

Yes, it's a compliment. It's also an offensive one haha, but just shrug it off as a compliment if it happens again. He's saying you're attractive (otherwise you wouldn't look like jailbait, you'd just look young), but it is definitely a bit of an obnoxious way to say it, especially but not only because you have a boyfriend. It's like, if I saw a hot girl on the street, it would be rude of me to whistle at her, even if it was a "compliment".

you are over analyzing this. A bit sensitive, but everyone is to some extent some less than others. I wouldn't let the opinion bother me, if you look like jail bait you look younger than you are, what's so wrong about that? Jail bait just means under 18. Someone can say you *look* like jail bait, but you truly aren't if you're 18+.

It doesn't by any means mean attractive. Some of the ugliest girl can be the sluttiest, and they get around to the older guys lol thus being jail bait!
