My girlfriend cheated on me with my best friend but she still loves me?

I have been with my girlfriend for 9 months and she is a cheerleader for my school. I play football so it sort of fit. homecoming was last Friday and we went to the dance after the game and she said she had to leave to go with some friends. I was a bit sad because I planned for us to relax and watch movies the rest of the night but I said okay. Anyways I got no word from her over the weekend so I was a little sketched out and on Monday people gave me strange looks in the hallway. One of my buddies comes up and says: "Dude! WTF! did you hear what your girlfriend did over the weekend!? Like, the whole school is talking about it!" I asked what happened and he said that she went to an after party that had alcohol and got drunk. she thought this kid named Jared was me or something and came on to him and she gave him head in a closet at the house. I of course was both pissed off and heart broken at the same time. I had a talk with Jared and he said he had no idea who she was and that she said that she wanted to do it. Later after school today I saw her in the parking lot and she looked like someone had hit her with a car or something. She started apologizing like crazy and crying the whole time saying it was her fault for getting drunk and how she wants to fix it anyway she can and other stuff that is probably bullsh*t. I was enraged and told her that we a re breaking up and she can go date Jared now if she wants. She of course took this harshly and kept asking for a second chance because she genuinely still loved me. She asked at the very least to think about it a day or two before officially breaking up with her. I said fine and left.

Now I really am stuck in a hard place. On one hand I have a girl who cheated on me and now has caused the whole school to slander me, and on the other she is still the best girlfriend I've had and who has made some of the worst times of my life a whole lot better. My friend Jordan also had a girlfriend who cheated on him in the same way but he still stayed with her despite everyone telling him to break up and now they have an amazing relationship. What should I do?
