What does "what's your deal" really mean?

he said this to me after we hugged and said you go up to me and then you're like -- and imitated how I am around him since I've been upset. I've never really heard this but is this a good thing? its a previous relationship I'm trying to get back.

  • ...okay. Lemme try to make sense of this.

You were upset and hugged him, when the hug was done he imitated your sorrow.

It doesn't sound like a good thing in that connataion. I need more information... I mean, did this hug and question come before or after the break up?

  • OK, this is about a masculine a form of communication as possible. Imitating your sadness was his way of making it the subject of the sentence. "What's your deal" is a way of very generally asking "what's up". Basically, he was trying to ask you why you are always upset in his presence. His inability to put it specifically into words means he is either uncomfortable with the situation or he feels guilty because he knows he's the cause.
