Is my shortness a turn off?

I'm 17, and I'm Very short. I'm 4 10, but I have perfect body proportions, and my friends think I'm attractive. I don't know, because I don't know if my shortness is a turnoff. I recently started to wear hills, its not too big, but I think it makes me look 4 11. Though I'm short, my legs are long, and I have big breasts/but not too large for my height and weight. I'm skinny, but not bonny skinny where you could see my bones, so I think I'm normal. Guys, for a 17 year old, is being too short a turnoff? I know that personality is more important, but for some people, they have to find someone attractive first in order to look at their personality.

i hate my length am also very attractive .. sad because of my length .. and some very ugly girls annoy me because this is the lonely bad thing in me .. but my friend "he's a boy" told me once that if I joined a competition of sexiest body in school I'll win ... and guys like me more than other pretty tall girls .. so now I kinda deal with it ... I always used to wear hills " not too high " and suitable 4 my age and still wear them when I go out but am starting not wearing them when I go to school ... now I am turning on my tender side .. I wanna make it a characteristic for me and what helps me that I am pretty and it worked out and people like me the way I am ... and am showing others that I am not sad because of it so now they can't annoy me anymore :)

That's very nice to hear! :) LOL, I actually like my height because that's what I'm used to. I just don't know if it affects towards my attractiveness since almost All the guys are tall in my school and I reach to their stomachs. Haha, I'm glad I'm not the only one like this :)

For a small percentage of guys, yeah, being that short is a turn-off. Then again, if you were 5'11", that would be too tall for a lot of guys. There's no one girl whose body is what EVERY guy wants.

Most guys prefer to date girls who are shorter than they are, and that means you have a LARGE pool of guys who are going to find you attractive. They won't particularly care HOW much shorter you are, just that you are shorter than he is, and thus your height is acceptable. And there's a sizable group of guys who specifically love petite girls (like me, for example), and obviously they're going to like girls your size a lot.

I can't say you'll NEVER have a height-related issue in your romantic career, but those will be so rare that it's nothing you should really worry about. Worry about being confident and fun and positive, and THAT will serve you FAR better than worrying about your height.

For girls its typically more of a benefit to be short than anything else. I love short girls. I'm only 5'5 so girls your size are perfect. It really just boils down to proportion. I just don't like when short girls look really stocky (usually because they've put on weight).

Trust me, I've run across plenty of girls who were gorgeous that would I have dated/f***ed in a heartbeat that had the height of a 3rd grader.

Most likely the only people who might be turned off by your height are super tall guys that are taller than 6ft. Feel lucky your not a guy. Short guys like me are dead in the water when it comes to dating. Pretty much our only hope is to find girls like you.

lol, to be honest, I Only am attracted to a guy by his personality. I wouldn't mind if you were short or tall, as long as you're nice, you're fine :)

Obviously I can't speak for every girl, I know there are exceptions since I have had GF's. Maybe your another. But I think part of your preference might have to do with the fact that you don't know what it feels like for a guy to be shorter than you. It's not just the fact that I'm short, its the fact that I'm SHORTER than most girls, which is the real issue for women. Most women find it to be a turn off and lack of masculinity if the guy isn't at least an inch or two taller.

To be honest, I never experienced it since every guy my age is always taller then I am. But once, there was this guy friend of mine who was a year younger than me. He told me that he liked me. Usually, I never fall for guys who are younger than my age, but with him, I did. What I'm trying to say is that anything is possible, and that you should never give up! :D And I'm not sure about this, but I heard that many tall females like short guys!

It's not impossible and I haven't given up. I'm just saying its definitely a disadvantage. Many girls have admitted to me that it does limit your dating pool.

For me - yes. I want my girl to be at least 1.7m (don't know how long is that in feet and inches and I don't care. You Americans should finally embrace the metric system :) ) A girl that is just short and is somewhere between 1.5m-1.6m is still somewhat okay for me. But anything lower than a meter and a half - which is exactly what 4 10 is - I would turn down without even considering.

But don't worry, there are a lot of guys there that aren't picky in that field as I am. Just as it is with fat girls - there are guys that don't like them at all and won't give them a slack, and others that that's their fetish.

For some it can be a turn off, but for others it can be a turn on. It's all about what they perceive as attractive. Personally I see nothing wrong with shorter women and find many quite attractive. In fact most of the women I've dated range between 5'0 and 5'4, with the shortest 4'11 and the tallest 5'10.

Personality is more important, but the initial attraction tends to be physical. We often tend to who we perceive as attractive and if a conversation is initiated, that is when we tend to learn more about their personality. Although if you're around a certain individual on a regular basis, some personality traits can be determined but that is more behavioral than deep personality.

It depends on the guy; for me personally, it wouldn't be a problem. And you're right: Looks get you in the door, while personality keeps you there. I'm sure you'll be fine; shorter women tend to fare much better in the dating world than shorter men.

I'm 6'5''. The shortest I've dated was 5'7''. It's more practical and also easier to communicate if a girl's closer to my height and eye level. I think if you live in Canada you'll do all right. In my part of Europe, everyone wants tall girls (well, no really tall like 6'2 but tallish like 5'9''). It's a cultural thing, I guess. But pretty girls, no matter how short or tall, will always have it easy when it comes to dating, so you have nothing to worry about.

Generally speaking, your height won't be a turn off. Your attitude about your own height will be.

As an attractive 18 year old I can tell you that no, to me it would not matter at all. A short girl is actually a huge turn on, I would be in love with what you just described ha ha as far as other guys, it depends on preferance. I'm a pretty dominant male so I like shorter women :)

Many of my girlfriends in high school where at least 5 inches or more shorter than me. I like short girls. :) Proportion is what matters, so no problem there!
