Do pretty girls have it harder?

There is a saying I heard, It's called "If you want to be happy for the rest of your life, never make a pretty woman your wife. So from my personal point of view, get an ugly girl to marry you. I agree with this statement.

Beautiful women are nice to look at, but just I look at them doesn't mean I want to have sex with them. No I'm not gay, beautiful women are just too much work and they can be crazy (Jodi Arias for example).

Me personally, I would rather approach a less-attractive woman who might accept my advances. Beautiful women won't do that. I also believe cute women are accesible, pretty women are inaccesible, and stunningly attractive women are unattainable.

every time I see an attractive woman crying at my college, part of me wants to say "Suck it up! you're pretty!" Beautiful women are high maintenance, play hard to get, has a boyfriend, and downright snobby (yeah I just generalized all attractive women).

The more attractive a woman is she will want a man who has the following: a fancy car, nice house, good job, or at least how I view them...as shallow human beings. Attractive women do not have a problem in this world, I don't believe they have any sort of problems. They coast through life on their good looks...and I won't be another sucker and allow them use me. So I don't want to date a woman who too attractive.

Do pretty girls have it harder in life? I say NO! What problem can a attractive woman have? She's pretty! suck it up!

Haha of course they have problems! Being pretty doesn't make them any more qualified at their jobs, and if anything - it can actually hurt her professionally, due to the same generalizations you've just demonstrated. At least in the science/engineering fields, guys not only don't take women (especially the attractive ones) seriously, but they will sometimes automatically go into defensive mode and begin being passive aggressive toward her without even seeing the kind of work she can do first.

This isn't true all the time, and the guys on the middle of the totem pole are normally cool. But when you're either dealing with top people who are insecure or people who are still trying to prove themselves and aren't careful to be modest (in personality and dress), being the center of attention for her how she looks can actually become a handicap. People automatically assume that pretty girls have never had any problems, and therefore aren't tough, don't know how to work hard, have manipulated people to get where they are, and haven't bothered to become as qualified (because they're too busy with a social life). It's true sometimes, but not always! Just think of all the ego-blows they have to take from people like you who are trying to tear them down, just because of a characteristic they couldn't help having.

As for relationships though, yes pretty girls do have an advantage. Practice makes perfect, and because they have people approaching them more often, they often become better at dealing with people - thus making them even more attractive as good conversationalists. My theory is: personality really doesn't correlate with physical attributes quite so much as people think. Just the fact that attractive people are the center of peoples' attention makes their flaws more noticeable and notorious.

I'll conclude with this: pretty girls shouldn't be your competition. They should be your teammates. They need love, attention, and compassion just as much as you do. Why not make one of these girls your girlfriend rather than your enemy?

I sort of feel sorry for you, being so ignorant and all..

Regardless of attractiveness, it seems you haven't had experiences with some good quality women. Perhaps it's not a surprise if you assume so much about them that you turn them off.

I think your problem comes to a lack of empathy too, you just sort of haven't placed yourself in their shoes to have a more understanding view.

I might give some examples of myself; I'm approached in public for my number or a date, and a few acquaintances have asked me for sex, not that I'm interested. Despite this, I've never had a boyfriend. Just because a woman is attractive doesn't mean the attention she gets is from quality guys who value her and don't treat her like a trophy.

As for attractive women wanting a man with a fancy car and house and job.. you're only really seeing the -shallow- attractive women, and you're right, it's how you view them but you certainly limit yourself if you think all are like this. maybe you're looking at the wrong -kind- of attractive :)

And actually, I have high standards too. But I look for maturity, respect and an open mind. I find those things really hot in a guy, and no, I haven't really found an accessible guy like this.. but why should I compromise maturity, respect and openness in a relationship when I value them in life in general?

You actually make a lot of assumptions that other people make but when they act it out it's not very respectful. A man in a group once gestured to me randomly as he was talking about appearances and walking around with a mirror .. he didn't know me at all and at first I didn't understand why he did that. People don't take you as seriously.. they think you're nothing but a pretty face. How could this be something I enjoy? I am human just like you.

Also part of me thinks this post is part-troll because you make so many silly generalisations :)

I honestly hope you're able to meet some truly beautiful and intelligent women one day, and you're able to respect them as a human being.

I think pretty people have it easier in a lot of respects (i.e. more attractive people often get more job offers, are treated better by people in the service industry, and get more attention from other people in general), but I take issue with your stance of "If someone is pretty, they can't possibly have a reason to cry!" I also take issue with your generalizations about attractive women.

In my experience, personality flaws like shallowness, a sense of entitlement, lack of respect for others, et cetera aren't necessarily correlated with physical appearance. Major problems in life, like money issues, trouble with family members, serious illness, social problems, or any one of a number of other things likewise strike people without regard to how pretty they are.

I think your conscious decision to "pass" on women you think are beautiful because "they might be crazy" or "I view them as shallow human beings" is kind of stupid, to be frank. You could be passing up a lot of women who are actually nice, genuine people - why not try getting to know people before you decide that they're horrible?

HAHAHA I haven't looked at the answers yet but you sure did piss some people off. That's OK I tend to do that too. As for me most girls get a chance with me. If she's to tall no or just plain ugly I wont. Looks matter but they aren't everything and I'm very aware of that. So if I'm attracted to her she gets a chance. Here's where me and you differ, I don't put with anything out of line as do you, and I do generlize for the most part as in I judge before I meet and get to know you, but that can always be changed when we start talking. I meet them beatiful and less atractive people but I don't deal with there, for lack of a better word sh*t

You are right on the money dude. Not to mention, there were actual investigations where they would have 2 women interviewing at a job, same qualifications, and the more attractive one gets the job.

Not to mention, there is scientific evidence that states we as humans attribute attractive people to be more intelligent, more competent, and happier.

You're just saying what goes on in the real world. Don't shoot the messenger, people..

I am an attractive women, I am single, not snobby at all. I don't play hard to get games, although I am not easy. I am also not material and wouldn't go for a guy just because he earns good money. And no I am not shallow either. So you see that's not always strictly true!

Everybody has problems but I'm glad I'm on the pretty isde of the fence. I know there will be some men who resent me because I'm attractive, but oh well not everyone is gonna like you. Most guys like you who resent pretty girls do it out of the sour grapes mentality. you know that you don't have what it takes to attract or keep the attention of a top notch chick so you resent us. you'll settle for an ugly girl, maybe even hope to get a cute girl but you know good and well that you don't have enough market value to attract a beautiful woman. that is fine, everyone has their limitations.

Wow. There's another saying "what you look for in life you find." If you believe all beautiful women are shallow and unattainable then that's exactly what you'll see without even knowing if its true. Do you feel like they judge you without getting to know you?You're doing the exact same thing right now. Every person has problems. Its what you do with them that defines you. Pretty girls don't coast through life. They are hurt, put down, judged etc etc just like everyone else. They can be abused, have self-esteem problems, and struggle in life just like you. Being pretty is just a twist of fate. Nothing more. Sure some pretty girls can be mean or as you put it, crazy but so can anyone else. When girls want a guy who treats them well, that's called self-esteem. They just may not be the right fit for you, but that doesn't mean that they are bad people.

Depends... Some do. Some do. The horrible pretty ones have it so easy. But the good pretty ones who constantly make the right choices have to deal with the shit end of the stick everytime. Quit saying we have it easy, because we don't. Only CERTAIN attractive women have it easy. Us GOOD and RESPECTFUL attractive women NEVER do.
