Do gorgous girls usually not get asked out a lot?

So at my school, which is a small engineering college there was this really gorgous freshman last year. I have a girlfriend but I'm not gonna lie she's a good catch.

Great body, cute face, athletic, volunteers in her free time, likes football and star wars. She's at least not completley dump and nice to really everyone. All guys I know spend the year dreaming about being with her.

Now turns out she actually went to my sisters class and visited my sister while I was seeing my parents. I overheard her telling my sister that dating in college had become so hard for her and that the whole she's been there she has never been asked out. She literally said she was dying for a date with just anyone

Seriously? All year I heard so many guys talking about how they wanted to be with her and none of them ever asked her out?

Some do, some don't. It usually depends on how outgoing and inviting they are. I have some gorgeous friends who always have guys falling all over them, so I think that the myth that pretty girls are always desperate for dates is just that - a myth. That being said, a great looking girl who is too busy, too shy, too snobby, too (whatever) will not get as many dates as a decent looking girl who is fun, social and generally in situations that lead to more social interaction. Your girlfriend may have been too busy and wrapped up in her interests, leading guys to believe that she was already taken.

Yes, yes, yes, yes yes! I don't wanna sound self centered, but a lot of people tell me I'm pretty or attractive, but only about 3 guys have asked me out.

What shocks me though their is always some hot or unattractive guy in my face, either flirting or acting shy, but just about all the time they never have the balls to go farther than that/ask me out.

Older guys seem to do it a lot, but that doesn't go far considering I'm a minor.

I don't get why won't guys around my age ask nd out, is their something wrong with me, or are they just to afraid/shy =(

The prettiest girls I know always have relationships or guys trying to get with them. I only hear about this "nobody asks out gorgeous girls" phenomenon on the internet. The girls who get no attention are ugly.

I have to agree with Mike as well... every really pretty girl I know that "doesn't get hit on" actually does, but it's never guys that meet their standards. Just talking from experience, she might be different, but she might not.

I've had a few girlfriends. The best looking ones had never had a boyfriend before me. The less good looking ones had had a normal number of boyfriends.

Problem is, a lot of guys are too p**** to approach any girls at all these days. Even a fairly confident guy might be too afraid to approach a really hot girl.

Gorgeous girls get "complimented" a lot.

They don't get asked out a lot because of how intimidating they look.

If a girl has the looks, brains, success and personality.. people will believe that no mediocre person can just "ask her out" because she is clearly on another level.

To be fair, it's a small engineering college. Engineers are typically "nerds" (in my calc 2 class right now, everyone (except me) is a future engineer and admitted nerd) and, however hot said nerd is, nerds get awkward when they want ask someone out. I'm a nerd and holy hell, the first time I ever asked a guy out was the LAST time I ever asked a guy out. It's scary, man ;-;

I think she is lying about that. If you are above average, average or even slightly below average - guys are going to ask you out. It's normal for any above average girl to get hit on more than once a day - count 365 days a year and then multiply that by 2. Maybe she wants people to think she doesn't get asked out because she's modest.

I guess so. All the all-around gorgeous girls that I know are single. I have a friend that sounds like the girl you were describing: smart, gorgeous and really nice and she was saying that she is going to start asking guys out because no one asks her out. I mean guys always compliment her but that's as far as it goes. I guess she (the girl you are talking about) is intimidating. They're a lot easier to approach in thoughts than in reality.

Meh, I will introduce myself to guys and such, but I agree with you, I prefer the guy asks me out. Otherwise, how will I know if he's interested? With the young men I've dated, they seem to want the girls to do all the work in the relationship while they contribute little, so it's like they should at least ask us out first to level the playing field. Yes and no a lot of guys feel intimated by an attractive woman they think she must have a boyfriend or she is so out of my league.Or they are too shy to ask them out.But the cocky guys might ask out a gorgeous girl.

I would say it probably depends on the situation. In general places, girls probably don't get asked out much. But in social places, I can see it happening more often, especially if alcohol is involved.

They get asked out regardless. Plus, I don't see them complaining, the string of guys they date stretches out jerk after jerk, and I highly doubt that it's just because good guys aren't dating them. These women have a ton of guys lining up to be with them, and they consciously choose to date these people.
