When a guy asks for a back scratch

So right after sex, I blatantly tell him I have a flight to catch in the morning, realizing I only had 4 hours to sleep, I tell him I have to snooze. I get into bed, and he tells me, if I would scratch his back until he goes to sleep. I of course do it willingly... Point is, he's never acted like this before. (Backstory, on and off relationship, commitment issues, but still in each others lives.) is this more than just a back scratch? A need for more intimacy or just a need to satisfy his posterior itch?

Note to all: he ALSO had a flight to catch that morning. Only his was work related and mine was leisure trave.

I'm surprised he didn't ask for a sandwich too LOL. Yeah, if I was about to be apart from my girlfriend and right after sex, I would definitely want to cuddle together before she had to leave. I especially love to cuddle after sex because it removes all the sexual tension and allows me to just relax. I don't think it was for more intimacy because then he probably would have tried to lie closer to you and not asked for a back scratch. If anything he would/should have offered to rub yours until you fell asleep.

He sounds kind of selfish considering he knows that you have a flight to catch and you are tired, despite knowing this he still asks you fro a back scratch. If he had offered you something like to cuddle or to give you a back scratch because you are stressed then yeah he would want to be closer to you.

He also had a flight to catch that same day. Just different location. So we were sort of in the Same boat

hehehe I think it's funny that you did a note to all and to me, even though I'm the only one that answered. I don't know why that just cracked me up. I don't know honestly, it all depends with guys their tone, the neediness in their eyes., etc. What do you think he meant when he asked for a backscratch?

Well clearly I have my eye on this one. I just didn't want to sound like I had it worse than him. Yes, traveling is stressful..but more stressful when work is involved. I didn't want to sound unfair. And yes I'll admit. I am a bit hopeful.

Hmm, well how long have you known him, is it strictly physical or something more, I know you said it was on and off, is distance one of the issues that pulls you two apart? What do you like about him, maybe you should just put it all out there and put everything one the line, and let the cards fall where they may. I mean I for one hate not knowing where a relationship stands. It's especially easy to do this long distance. But it may be harder to gauge his reactions etc.
