I don't know hugs aren't really a big deal , I've got numerous hugs from girls I knew over the years and they sort of happen randomly and aren't actually a big deal , never end up doing anything with the girl just cause she hugged me . but its at least a positive sign she's comfortable around you and trusts you , a girl wouldn't hug a guy if she though he was a total creep

There's no established rule about that. She may be suggesting you pat her somewhere!

Or, she might just be a sisterly friendly person. The way to tell is to pat her back! She won't be expecting that, so you can tell where she's at by her reaction to you!

Pat = Friendship hug. Doesn't mean she's not interested just that she wasn't going to lose herself in that hug. Maybe she thinks you're not interested.

if its a pat then yes its probably a friendship thing but if she rubbed your back then its most likely something more then friends
