Why do guys not respect certain girls/take them seriously?

Honestly, I think I'm a pretty respectable girl. I'm 22 and have only slept with one guy and have fooled around with a handful, so I'm not "slutty" by any definition. I'm educated - I have a bachelor degree. I drink socially (and even then, not in excess), and I've never even tried hard drugs or cigarettes. Yet I always seem to attract guys who only want to use me and don't take me seriously at all. It's incredibly frustrating. The only things I could think of is that maybe they think I'm like some of my promiscuous, hard partying friends, or see that I have a lot of guy friends and equate that with being slutty.

When it comes down to it, I'd say I'm a cute and pretty innocent girl with a big heart and a lot to offer in a relationship, so I'm just confused as to why I seem to exclusively attract the player types. Is it some vibe I'm giving off I'm unaware of? I just don't get it. Any advice would be appreciated!

umm well A.) some probly would consider that slutty (religious people)

B.) respect is earned if you earn someones respect ehy should treat you with it, but I doubt youve earned everyones respect in the world

C.) If you hang around a crowd of people like that why would you expect people who don't know you to think you're different?

D.) for me doing some of those things are more attractive than not doing them (for example drugs lets me know she's not just following the crowd, ya id want to get her off some serious stuff like heroine and whatnot but still I don't judge others for being there) drinking, I drink a lot so when it comes to girls id like her to be able to drink a good bit too (just for sh*ts and giggles)

anyway that's my thoughts on the matter g'luck

The player types are usually the most vocal cause they have the most confidence to come up to you. Good guys usually have low self esteem and are afraid to approach you.

Either way, I would hold out for a good guy who actually has some balls.

All girls are mainly approached by player types, for the same reason that most e-mail I get is spam and most phone calls I get at home are from telemarketers.

Most people aren't spammers or telemarketers, and there's nothing special about me. Its just that those few spammers and telemarketers spend all day contacting people.

Players hit on cute young girls all the time.

No offensive, buy the fact that you have to remind yourself of all those things you mention is a sign of low self esteem. A fact of life is that if you respect yourself people will respect you, don't give guys the time of day and they will respect you, because we like what we can't have, but don't be bitching about it.

Haha I'm not reminding myself of those things, I'm letting an audience who has literally no idea who I am what I'm like, so they can give me an answer with a sense of depth. Am I insecure? Sure, sometimes. But literally every girl on earth is, so I know that isn't the issue. And I'm not bitching about it, I'm simply wondering why...your sense of reading comprehension seems a bit off...

It's probably just because a lot of younger guys don't want to get serious with a girl yet.

This is like a guy with a lot to offer wondering why he can't get any girls to like him. It's tough. You just have to put in more effort.
