Why would guy keep asking if I like his beard?

We have a thing going on he usually doesn't have a beard but he grew one he asked me so many times if I like his beard or if I think he should keep it or not. Why does he keep asking, why does he care?

Is he just insecure? I like him better bare but it looks fine to me. It is scruffy for making out though.

He's trying different bear styles and asking for your opinion on them so he can find out what you think looks best on him. He wants opinions and compliments from you. I don't think he's insecure unless he talks and behaves in a way as if he's really worried or unsure about the style.
