I have a crush on my lecturer, help?

I'm on a postgraduate course and have a huge crush on one of the lecturers, he's about 40 and I'm 26. I know lecturers probably can't date their students but would this still be the case for mature students on a postgraduate course? Could someone his age be interested in someone my age? What kind of signs should I look for that he could be into me, he does look at me but he does have to look at all his students I guess. I don't want to be too obvious in case I embarrass myself but how can I show I'm interested? I cannot stop thinking about him! He's not married but he could be with someone and I just don't know about it.

Nothing about being quiet and attractive is off-putting. Beware that you're not indulging your self-perception.

A good guy like myself may try to stay away from students. It's bad form, bad judgment, bad news. Think about it from his perspective. Even if you threw yourself at him he would have a lot at risk. There are so many gray areas involved aside from the rule in the policy book that you mentioned, you should know that.

If he's an irresponsible dickhead that doesn't give a shit then you're in the clear. However is that really the type of dude that you want? If so, carry on. :o) Age doesn't matter. It's improbable that he would give you any signs as this would make him look bad during class.

I'm a little jelly, frankly. As if this older guy doesn't have enough good fortune already- having come of age during a booming economy, good job- now he's got a cute girl some 20 years his junior pining for him? Lame.

Of course a 40 year old would be interested in a 26 year old. You're young, attractive (?). If he's strict about not dating students, he might have personal hesitations, but I'd definitely love a hot 26 year old if I was single.

Age is just a number, not a reminder, sweetie, so I don't see where, Firstly, that that would hold him back from wanting to get to know you. It's all too common today.
However, there is this fine line between teacher/student relationships Here, and although you don't see any "Policy," offhand, I am quite sure it applies to Any teacher, inside the premises of his jurisdiction, Not fraternizing with one of his students. It's not ethical, rarely heard of, and he knows very well, if he wants to keep his job, and---any other in the near future---that it's hands off the merchandise. It reaps many consequences, you probably know.
However, After you've complete whatever you need to, no harm in finding out any particulars then. Take it from there. Until then, don't try and start what you probably won't get far enough to Begin any Beguine with. Concentrate on your course, and see what the future brings After the fact. xx

your teacher probably wouldn't want the drama, negative attention from the other teachers, small possibility of the media or whoever found out and tried to spin it into a predatory situation. he probably values his job a lot more than a bad rep even if he wouldn't be breaking any rules. he might have a girlfriend or not like you back either and then classes with him would be extremely awkward.

i would say do nothing until your course is over and you aren't a student there anymore then leave your phone number, if he is interested he would call you and if he isn't he won't or might leave a message saying so but you'll never have to deal with the embarassment of him rejecting you and still having to see him in class all the time

You need to be careful because there is probably a school rule that he can't date a student, no matter what age you are. I would wait to do anything until the course is over, and then maybe approach him and say you would like to keep in touch.
