Do you like Oysters?

I don't think they're worth the bother, myself.

They taste of salt water, so the trick is to put hot sauce on them. You have a shucking knife to get them out of the shell.

I last ate them (I think) in 2005 (?), so that probably says it all.

Yes, I tired one about 13 and was nearly sick lol tried again a few years ago and I really like them now.. they’re really expensive though so I don’t have them that often

I've developed somewhat of a taste for raw oysters since one of my close friends in Tokyo owns an oyster bar and he treated me to some of the finest along with champagne, but it was never quite my favorite. I started off hating it and worked my way up to "meh".

As for why I don't like them so much, I dunno. My friend had an oyster bar reputable for these giant oysters, so they were often more than mouthful. You'd have to cut them and then they had all sorts of sauces and spices on the side you could dip it in, but it just tasted like dirty seawater to me. Funnily I always liked all kinds of raw fish from childhood (sashimi), but oysters might have been a bit too "hardcore" for my tastes as far as the fishiness and that sea water kind of taste.

I never liked uni so much (sea urchin) for similar reasons. It has that strong kind of saltwater taste to it unless with a mushy texture, and the oysters I tried had somewhat of a similar taste at least:

I tried them once. Probably only a few months ago, actually.
They weren't gross, I just didn't like the taste. And there's too much fucking around with them for too little actual food content.

top pictures are the standard ones i enjoy plain as its the fresh taste of the sea. just with some lemon juice. usually a dozen ea. with my friend occasionally when in seafood restaruant.

They aren’t good.
I remember as a child my family would make me eat them. They put lots of cheese on them but still I hated it. Also there is sand in them still and it rubs against my teeth.
