Can homemade wine kill you?

So let's put the "are you even 21?" Bullshit aside. Okay? And no, I'm not a child. But I'm not 21 so stop it. But I made homemade wine with apple juice a few days ago and I'm finna drink it! I mean, it's all natural ingredients so I don't think it could be dangerous but my friend keeps making jokes "you're gonna die bro" and I don't know also it's not even making me drunk just hyper so lame. Anyways, any advice to drink this safely without going 5 feet under?

When you make alcohol you have to sterilize everything and use airlocks to keep bacteria from contaminating the fermentation. You also have to run the fermentation for about 2 weeks to get an alcohol content on par with beer. It usually runs a bit longer for wine to the point were the yeast are killed off around 15% alcohol and then it is allowed to settle for up to 12 months. If you don’t sterilize and contain your fermentation vessel you can end up getting food poisoning from bacteria that enter the mash. If you have only been fermenting it for a few days the alcohol content is going to be pretty low, and if you didn’t do it right, you might get sick as well...

Too high fermentation temperature over +32 C and using of fruit that contains lot of pectin can create methanol in such wine.
Usually home made wine or any kind of alcohol contains less methanol than industrial produced one. Some people, especially those who make big amounts illegal use for fermentation too big canister/container where temperature control isn't possible because fermenting yeast produces warmth.
If you make you own wine in canister not bigger than 60 L ( 15 gal.) the yeast will never reach the critical methanol formation temperature. I wouldn't buy wine or booze from unknown people.

Yes it could be very dangerous. It could be too strong or it could accumulate bacteria. The fermentation process is very specific. Unless you know what you’re doing (I mean actually know, not just “I looked it up on the internet and someone told me to do this”), then you shouldn’t be making your own wine or alcoholic beverages.

You are better off not drinking it but i you are get someone 21+ to buy you some.
I am not saying you should drink alcohol but it would be better than trying to make some strange thing at home.
