PS: These are the flavors sold at my local liquor store
Which Jack Daniel's should I have as my first alcoholic drink?

Disregard the comment from @HollyF as she clearly doesn't know anything about whiskey. Most of the best whiskeys in the world are made in the US. The only notable exception is Scotch, but you'll pay a lot for a truly good Scotch and there's no good reason to do that for your first when there are so many good domestic alternatives. I personally am a much bigger fan of good bourbons and ryes.
There's nothing wrong with any of the JD options you listed. But if you want to try a good bourbon, look for something like Bookers, Blantons, Woodfords. Knob Creek is not bad. My go to right now is High West American Prairie bourbon, which is a blend made in Utah. It's reasonably priced and very good.
Happy birthday.
@HollyF A first timer will not know the difference between JD and something better. What IS a bloody joke is the notion that one must go to UK or Japan to get good whiskey. It demonstrates a profound ignorance about whiskeys in general.
@HollyF There are some good whiskeys from Scotland, Ireland and Japan, but there are FAR more whiskies of equal or better quality made and easily available here in the US. Anyone who knows anything about whiskey today knows that.
1) Not drinking when you're underage doesn't make you a square, it simply makes you less of an idiot :)
2) Alcoholic beverages taste like shit, because alcohol is poison and nature is smart (so poison usually tastes bitter, i. e alcohol, tobacco, etc). It's an "acquired taste" that nobody has reason to acquire.
3. So, they'll all taste disgusting, as they should. You might enjoy a beer or something like that, but in general the flavour is terrible.
4. Do not get into the habit of drinking.
While I understand what your saying everything is a poisonous in some form.
Apples contain cyanide your body removes it.
fruit have pesticides on them which are removed by your body.
Salt is Sodium Chloride Chloride ? you mean bleach omg as most people go.
Ethanol is no different trust me there's other stuff that is bad too.
When you work in a laboratory you'll start to see how you're seeing ethanol in other things and places.
The difference with alcohol and the others is no one overdoses on them if they did you'd have a new trend and they'd call it something like cyanolism eating too many apples etc.
Point is every food you eat has poison in them but they're so small the body removes it. Alcohol is the same you just have enough so it doesn't kill harm you.
Yeah, I know, even oxygen is poison. But like you said - people don't consume oxygen in unhealthy manners (usually). As for salt? Well, they often do :) I'm not saying "never drink", I'm saying don't turn it into a habit and don't forget it's poison, a hell of a lot more so than your other examples.
Yh oxygen will kill you if pure. Not that I know of though but people do blood doping.
Yh definitely spaced apart and quite poisonous there are worse things like propanol and butanol which will kill you 100% ethanol will make you go blind so you're not wrong.
Ignore the whisky snobs. JD is a different type of whisky to European and Japanese and so it's comparing apples and pears. Don't defile whisky with stupid mixers, what's the point of them crafting it and maturity for years just so some idiot can ruin it with coke. Ice or not? Well temperature does alter how you taste thing so try both, ice calms the drink and lets certain flavours come through.
All these plp In the comments stupid ! The honey Jack Tastes great! Itβs the only one that tastes good without a chaser or juice. The other ones are REALLY strong. Also The Blue Zombie BeCardi Mixer tastes like juice but will get you right as well. 💜

Jack Daniels is OK but not great. I would say it is lower middle of the road. Lots of better options out there if you don't mind spending more. But if cost is a factor there's nothing wrong with Jack Daniels.
If you're looking for better, there are a lot of excellent whiskeys in the US these days. Scotch used to be the benchmark by which all premium whiskeys were judged but that is no longer the case. There are still some excellent whiskeys coming from Europe and other places, but the vast majority of premium whiskeys are now produced in the US.
Google is your friend. See what is available to you locally and then do some Googling to see which is your best option.
When drinking a brand you've never had, start with the original. That is the baseline drink to compare what you like/don't like to. Also, do not drink for the first few times alone. You need to learn your limits. When I had my first few drinks, I was in the navy and had shipmates I trusted with me. We also ALWAYS had one who did not touch a drink to be designated driver. You NEED to take these precautions when drinking because you will feel fine when you are not.
I would skip the Jack and get some single-malt scotch, 12 years or older preferably. If not that, then some Irish whiskey (of whatever brand) will still be superior, in my opinion.
As a plan C, there are many bourbon whiskies to try. I just put Jack at the bottom of my list... right alongside Budweiser. I'm sure plenty of others disagree, given the popularity of the two brands.
Try to find a 21 year old Scotch... that stuff is amazing
@jamesgoldman It is, but also fairly expensive, though nothing like 25 year. $1200 a bottle? Yeah, there goes a month's pay.
Look for the 26 Glenfiddich that Β£400/$500... not cheap but probably worth it
The 50yo are where it gets crazy... a year's salary on minimum wage gone
Get the sample bottles that sit on the counter and try them all. No need to blow 40 bucks on one bottle.
You can total shit face for under 10 bucks with them sample bottles.
Them come in thousands of flavors to.
One you have your 1st taste. Try a cement mixed drink. You have to hold it in your mouth till the reaction happens.
depends how much of a child you are, if you're looking to just get drunk and taste the alcohol flavor less, Jim bean apple, jack itself is pretty plain but I'd go with original or gentleman Jack. Legit Evan Williams in the plastic jugs is probably on the same quality level I swear sometimes. But you gotta know what Jack is so go original
Alright here is what I'm gonna warn you. β You do not wanna drink more than 100ml jack for the first time if you've never been drunk before. If you drink a few glasses you're gonna be sloppy drunk and drink more then throw up passout forget what happened. You don't want that trust me, take it easy and sip it slow enjoy the flow. Try jack honey, it's lower in ethanol which means you won't get hammered. It also tastes really good sweet.
Jack Daniel's Rye is the least awful one.
But all JD bottles are trash tier garbage, and you are much better off spending your money on real alcohol.
Don't buy "supermarket" brands of alcohol, there are far better ones for far less out there on the market, ones that are actually real aged spirits, and not just some factory-colored ethanol sold as "whiskey".
Man, those are pricey.
Anyway stick to the vanilla as your first try so you know how the original jack daniels tastes. It's kind of like with coke and it's flavors of vanilla coke, cherry coke etc.. stick with original when you first try anything. unless of course you know you love bacon on a cheese burger royal deluxe.
Jack is quite awful and overpriced as well but if Jack is a must go for the original with Coke
If you really want to push the boat out look for the Glenfiddich 21 year old... it is nectar
best served on the rocks
Should probably just mix them all together into one BIG drink... we all gotta die sometime right? Haha. Just kidding. Respect for holding off until you're legal. Might be the 1st person I've ever talked to that did that lol. Happy early birthday to you as well. Enjoy it! You owe it to yourself to get stupid drunk at least once in your life & your 21st is the perfect opportunity
I like whiskey in general and most often with apple juice (yes I'm soft) but not Jack, I really dislike it's specific taste.
Jack Daniels is awful, get something from the UK or Japan if you want to actually enjoy it.
Get yourself some woodford reserve bourbon 🥃... jack Daniels is terrible!
Whisky is a bit strong for your first time why not try something like wine or beer first? But if you insist I'd recommend jack daniels coca cola in the cans really nice stuff tbh second would be the JD honey.
You need to try this two Disaronno
I voted honey but I personally like the og straight with a lemon twist
Jack Daniel's is a disappointment, but if you really want to have a Jack, go for original with coke.
Hard liquor is the devil you should stick to beer.
If you're gonna dance with the devil and cause problems for yourself, then you might as well have some Canadian Crown Royal rye whiskey.
i say original but if you never had a drink before i hope you realize you aren't actually going to like whiskey of any sort... its an aquired taste. have a good night though and try not to be too sick
Whoa! You're starting off with the heavy hard stuff. You should consider something lighter for your first alcohol consumption. Perhaps a light beer?
