I'll mirror @snedger____ and say vodka. I high quality vodka, served iced cold- as it should be served, will have little if any taste. Vodkas also tend to be around 80 proof, which means they won't overpower you like a strong (but good) whisky can.

If you don't fancy straight shots, you should consider a vodka-based cocktail such as a Cosmopolitan, vodka and cranberry juice, or vodka and tonic (one of my favorite summer drinks).

If you opt for the cocktails, watch out. Some of them go down so smoothly that you'll find yourself in over your head... and with your head in the toilet throwing them up!

White Claw. It's easy on the system, it isn't too strong, it's unlikely that you'll drink it too fast and get sick.
