If drinks count, sekanjabin. It's something people will gulp down just fine (it's Persian/Iranian in origin and it used to help cool down from the heat) so long as they don't know the ingredients. It's not an unpleasant combination, just an odd one. Growing up, I had some formerly Iranian neighbors, so I grew up with it. Other people people tend to say "It's made of WHAT?" unless you have them drink it without telling them.

As regards liver- meat from muscle is nutritionally lacking; it's fat, protein and iron, and that's pretty much it. Organ meats are where the real vitamins and minerals are. I'm not sure how they came to be thought of as "poor people food".

It can be! I'm not vegan, but I own a bar and we have vegan items on the menu. I love all of them. In fact, I actually like our vegan burger better than most real meat burgers. They're delicious!

If you're vegan, check out some Indian vegetarian food for ideas. There's been huge huge numbers of Indian vegetarians for hundreds of years and they really know their stuff when it comes to making vegetarian/vegan food that's both healthy, hearty and genuinely filling. A lot of white/western vegan food just doesn't have that oomph that leaves you satisfied.
