My usual procedure is something like this: get the bottle, try to twist the cap off, discover that it's corked, briefly wonder if there's any technical reason that corks are still used with modern sealing standards, sigh in exasperation, take a corkscrew, twist in in, try to extract it, have it pull out, try again, get the same result, twist it all the way through the cork, STILL have it pull out, note all the shredded cork bits floating in the wine itself, say "nuts to this", push the cork IN, and pour the wine out around it.
Very good at it.
im still using an old waiters friend.
I have a fairly stock wine collection and a wine fridge
Isn't that the butlers job?
Corks seem to be largely replaced with screw caps now, even decent wine not just the £5 bottles
I’ve never opened a bottle of wine. I’ve drank plenty of wine, but usually there is someone there to open it for me.
@CrazyGirl2 a decent waiters friend, a foil cutter is all you really need.

As a dad I tend to be the official wine opener.
@ChrisMaster69 Yeah, I guess that’s true. But I have always been the kind of girl who prefers her father to open the wine for her anyway! 😘
@CrazyGirl2 some girls are natural princesses
@ChrisMaster69 Well, I have never… I mean JUST because I’m Jewish, I have to be a “princess”? Oh how very racially sensitive of you! LOL 😂
Nah, I’m just fucking with ya’! As a matter of fact, that’s precisely what my daddy calls me… Princess!

I have an authentic Hussar saber but someone needs to bring the Champagne
https://www.youtube.com/embed/ClD_-UBaIyIOver time, I have learned to master the "two prong" type. You have to ease the two prongs in gradually, then twist as you pull the cork out
Worked as a bar tender for a few years. Popping bottles is a piece of cake 🍰
can you flip glasses and bottles around and stuff? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gyAxE2vS318
I'm ok at it. I've had some fails but with a decent corkscrew there is never any problems. Haven't done it in awhile without one so who knows what problems I could have lol

I own one of these so opening wine is super easy
I'm the designated bottle popper and bottle opener (keep a bottle opener on my keys)
I also have a bottle opener on my keys!
I don't drink wine as often as when I do it doesn't always have a cork, but I've gotten better at it..
Epic fail🍾
Wine is 100% the worst thing ever made so i have no idea nor ever will. The fact it also comes with needing a cork proves my point it's awful lol.
I am well experienced in opening bottles of wine! Gin, too. I also have a well trained boyfriend to keep my glass topped up. 🤣🤣🤣
I’ve had good and bad experiences. Lol. Hubs broke a corkscrew on our honeymoon. That was disappointing! 🤣
.
I love my Houdini.
I actually do have a good Swiss Army knife. Lol.
When I was 4 my grandpa was trying to open something and he got a huge kick out of me asking if he had a Swiss Army knife. My dad taught me right.
I have not done it in many years but if recall correctly I did manage to get the cork out of the bottle without seriously maiming anyone.
I don’t drink so I’ve never actually had to open a wine bottle. Probably suck at it anyways.
I've never tried and I'm pretty sure that if I did, it would go wrong 😬
Expert level but i'm a barmaid not a alcoholic honest
@karaspara popped a few corks in your time
How about chipping away at the cork with a screwdriver?
I don’t drink. I’ve never open a wine bottle. Looks hard. Too much work. Lol
I don't like wine or any other alcoholic beverages, so I never had to open one.
I don't have much occasion to do so, but I can fake it if I need to.
probably not with my bare hands in most cases xD but with the proper tools, it's no problem.
However last time I used a swiss army knife right after I been climbing... it took two of us and did not go well.
I guess I’m a pro, I’ve opened easily thousands of them.
I can't uncork from a wine bottle to save my life.
Never tried it so I don't know it
Have a great cork remover.
Is it even that hard?
I just use my hands most of the time
It's extremely hard... lol
I'm a pro at it
I wasn't in my 20's though.. "everyone duck"
Not very lol
I can't do it
I suck at it LOL
