What is that one ingredient that ruins a dish for you?

I believe ginger should be used to remove unpleasant smells and not to flavour a dish as any edible condiment in the food unless we are talking sushi or flu prevention tea. I once had candy with ginger in it and the ginger ruined it for me - I did not like the taste.

Interesting, ginger candy. Ginger works great dryes with salt and lime, i made it once. Plus ginger works good on red meats, not sure about candy but interesting

I don't know what it is, but whatever Olive Garden overloads into every item on their menu is just horrible.
Beyond that, anything that makes food taste flowery. I don't know what ingredients they are because I don't cook, but there seem to be many ingredients that make me feel like I'm eating a plate full of flowers.

I think it depends on the dish for me. I can't really think of a universal one. For example, I like seafood but I dislike most of it on pizza. I like salads and pumpkin sometimes but I dislike pumpkin in salads and veggie dishes since it makes them very sweet.

Nutmeg is a fickle spice. If there’s too much then it can overpower other flavors and make a dish inedible. It’s one of the few flavors that can’t easily be toned down in my opinion.

@dreamstar72 there is posinous mushrooms of course, but there is a texture that can tell if the shroom is posinous or not, in Sweden we go shroom picking and i make avery delicious shroom soup.
