Have you ever had a date shake?

A date shake is a milk shake made of vanilla ice cream and dates.
There are places in the California desert, near where dates are produced, that make them. I haven't had one for a long time, but used to love them. How 'bout you?

I go to Shields Date Garden in Indio, Calif every once in awhile. They have delicious date shakes plus good Mexican style food. They sell dates there too. One would probably never knew they have date shakes or that they would taste that great but they do.

That's it. It's been so long since I was out that way. It's one place where we used to stop for date shakes. But I've been to Indio, too, even during the date festival.

I think a person I saw online recently recommended making a smoothie with dates inside so it makes me think it would be tasty but I would probably sub the ice cream for something else, not sure what but will figure it out later if I decide to make one

I remember them as a small boy when my dad would take us to the Salton Sea (it wasn't a polluted disaster zone back then).

Honestly, I wasn't a fan of date shakes and usually asked for plain vanilla.
