Depends on what the recipe is for, but I usually quadruple the garlic in most things I'm making. I would use one full head of garlic, or about a dozen cloves, for the following:
-Garlic butter for one French baguette worth of garlic bread: along with butter, kosher salt.
-6 cups Spaghetti sauce: along with puree'd stewed tomatos, balsamic vinegar, and a variety of vegetables (and potentially meat, depending on the consumers)
-one batch of guacamole: along with avocados, salt, onion, tomato, lemon juice (and cilantro, depending on the consumers).
I cooked a ramen the other night and sautéed four cloves of garlic along with some red onion and black pepper before adding the water, noodles, and egg.
I would likely put in an entire head in the average recipe calling for 4 cloves. I'm not afraid to put in extra garlic.
In the kitchen I like to experiment from time to time & when it comes to garlic I love garlic. If a recipe calls for four cloves of garlic the first time I make it I’ll follow the directions all the way to see how it turns out. The second time I make I it I’ll add a little more.
Depends on when I next plan to meet up with my vampire. I like garlic myself. Keeps the bugs away. Four cloves is a lot however.
I assume they mean big fat cloves so I make up what I think is the equivalent. Then add a few more

Usually at least a few extra, but sometimes I stick to what it calls for if it's a new recipe I'm trying. I'm finding that it's very hard to overdo it on garlic or fresh herbs, though!
I love garlic so tend to double it.
the general idea on garlic meals, is that any vampire in a 4 block radius simply goes poof.
I pretty much never follow garlic recomendations. I just do how much garlic I wish to have in the food.
Depends on dish. I like bolognese sauce or pork neck roast with a lot of garlic.
Probably 6. I love garlic in food if cooked properly
It really depends on what I'm making. But I'm from the school that you really can't use too much garlic. Lol
I'm a vampire soooo none!
jk. i got no idea sorry :o
i'll follow the recipe but if i'm winging it... extra garlic goes in. i used to chew on garlic as a kid. i love garlic.
garlic, licorice, and beeswax.
i almost had one of those three in my mouth growing up. since i was little.
Depends on the size of the cloves...4, 6 maybe 8 or more if they are really small
It depends on what I'm making. Sometimes mores what it says. So what are you making
I made a korma curry it just inspired this recipe
Question* woah
Was delicious
I was going to say 8 or more haha. Never too much garlic.
four , I do not have a lot of confidence in my culinary skills to do any ad libbing.
@Smashingdoozy 8 garlic cloves is good if you want to repel vampires. What the heck is going on with you?
I love garlic 😍
I would start with 2 and go from there. Depending on what you are making, garlic can be very overwhelming
Minimum of doubling what the recipe calls for, but it also depends on the recipe
NONE! Fresh garlic takes so much effort to deskin and make teeny tiny slices. The flavor imparted isn't even that impressive! Use garlic powder instead!!! I demand you complyyyyyy grrrrrrrrrrr 😡
It's called a garlic crusher 👍
Yes it squirts out juice and tiny bits of garlic only you still have to scrape it off 🤮(labor intensive) only to be rewarded with extremely mild seasoning. Powder FTW
I prefer my garlic fresh and not hydrophobic
I actually bought some garlic at Wal-Mart that was already peeled, and I just crush it with the bottom of a jar and slice it a bit if it's still not as fine as I'd like. There are things like a crusher, etc. that can make it easier as well. Also, there is minced garlic in a jar for if you're not feeling up to putting in much work!
@aWes0MeNeSs ugh nooooooo
Powdered garlic fears water?
Well it's kinda weird it collects moisture but doesn't like to be mixed into liquid at the same time
That amount or more and I would include the seasoning as well.
Depends on what the recipe is for, and the size of the garlic cloves.
3-5, depending on how big my cloves are. I don't like garlic that much tbh.
I always double it, but I like garlic. I don't know why that's a "correct" answer. Sometimes I might triple it, depending on the dish.
4 individual sections of the bulb of garlic and maybe 1 more for kicks
I love garlic so I just put in what I feel is enough. Usually the amount in the recipe or a little bit more.
Depends which garlic I use. From my garden I take just 2, from supermarket at least 8
I'm not a good cook, so I stick to the script. I use 4.
I normally put one and half times what the recipe calls for so I would put 6 cloves.
6 to 8
I love garlic!
If it calls for 4, then 6 or 7
3 cloves because I don’t have enough. I never have enough of whatever I’m making
4 cloves. I can add more garlic to my own plate later.
I'm prolly gonna put in FIVE
I love garlic so I dump in a bunch of cloves.
ALL of them because, VAMPIRES
I would put in 27 of them
So am right, I picked 8 or more
Neither cause I am a vampire.
The 4 because I love garlic
If you live garlic you'd add more 😣
How much do I not put in?
Usually double what the recipe calls for.
Is it for a soup, sauce, bread, etc?
4. I'm too bad at cooking to try anything.
Depends on the recipe
I thought you people avoided garlic
