What do you do with your leftover cooking grease?

Question

We all (I hope) know not to throw it down the drain or it could congeal and create a clog. Ever since I was a kid we’ve had a grease jar we keep in the fridge. Once it is full it goes in the trash. You?

It depends on what it is. If I'm roasting something like pork,. chicken, beef, turkey, etc., what ends up in the bottom of the pan/dish is used to make gravy.
Bacon: I pour the grease into a can and put it in the fridge and then use it when I want to fry certain things: breaded chicken, hash browns, etc..
Most other kinds of grease I have no other use for get poured into a can on the counter near the sink that gets used for other garbage like, excess food left on dishes, dead tea bags, etc. and then it goes in the garbage when it's time for the men from the garbagery to show up.

We reuse our oil in future dishes. Like when my dad is cooking pork for dinner, he takes the leftover oil from his pork dish and pours it into our vegetable dish to flavour our vegetable dish with pork oil. I marinate my rice in leftover cooking oil because I eat rice every day and the oil gives it variety.

I just always throw it in the toilet. I find it absurdly gross and weird when people can it or jar it or toss it and shit outside.
I literally put worse shit down that thing almost ever day, I can't imagine a little grease fucks things up too much.

I never use grease in the pan, i always use a thin layer of cold-pressed olive oil. The oil does not burn and takes on the taste of what I am frying (salmon, poultry...). Then I pour that oil into the main basis of my meal (rice, noodles or potatoes) as a little flavor booster. Healthier for me and better for the environment.

We have dedicated garbage cans for leftover cooking grease in my country. Also it depends on what kind of oil do you use. Some of them can be use multiple times (just run it through cheese cloth) and some do not. If it is really small amount, I will most likely drown it through drain, but if I fry (rarely) or anything with more than small amount, I will collect it and remove it in proper way... it is still better throw it out through mixed waste garbage can than no can.

Make my own suet for the birds sometimes. Mostly just keep it in coffee cans and throw it in the trash. My grandmother used to burn it off in the crematory.

Works just fine down the drain if you flush out with water while still hot and liquidy. If it clogs use dish soap and problem solved

Usually there isn't much. I wipe it up with a paper towel and put it into the compost bin for curb-side pickup.

we used to save bacon grease, it was great to use for cooking.
Before all of the pans the have now with the nonstick coatings we used black iron frying pans, so a dollop of that and nothing stuck if you had the pan seasoned just right.
We would usually have extra, so during the winter we would smear some on the tree bark for the birds to eat, pretty much like suet is used today.

just cooking grease goes in the garbage, but that wonderful bacon fat is saved and reused for flavor in other dishes... If they made a cologne that smelled like bacon I would wear it... lol
