Have you ever tried butter in your coffee?

I couldn't possibly go w/o any carbs or sugar. I'm being more careful about added sugar but I still want to eat some pastries once in a while. Fruit is also good. To answer your question, no. I haven't tried that. That sounds really weird and unusual. I'm not sure if I'd like it
I know about the shellfish but are you doing no dairy as well? Also try using Stevia or Monk Fruit extract. that way you dont go into your daily sugar count really and you can save it for your pastries. And BELIEVE me I want nothing more than to get lost like Homer Simpson on a Donut Conveyor belt LOL. If I could live off Donuts and Pies I WOULD! I mean I still like Buffalo wings, Pizza, and Cheesesteaks, they are legit my favorite foods. But I just really need and want to lose weight. I'm trying to y'know become more fit and ummm attractive for the ladies haha! Once I get to 225 I won't care as much. Maybe a little treat once or twice a month or something... at least until I hit my 60's and then I kinda wanna live it up JUST a little. Still want to try to stay healthy for any possible grandkids though.
@Cherry234 I don't know if you recall but I'm a damn cheesaholic haha. So I need my dairy in my diet. I'll be honest with you, being vegetarian is NOT hard for me. On the contrary I LOVE veggies. Ironically they are my favorite food group! I just have certain things like buffalo wings i go crazy for. But I used to eating salads 1-2 times a day. But for some reason and I don't know why I just wasn't losing the weight and it's not like I was using dressings but olive oil and vinegar. And I actually enjoy beans a lot and ate tons of those too. Especially pintos, black, and kidney beans. And dont even get me started on the mashed potatoes <3
@Cherry234 seafood pasta rocks too lol. And yeah your diet would be pretty easy for me for the most part... with lots of sushi incorporated and pastas and rice dishes. Damn you're making me miss it all lol
we make it pretty good at my place. We got the one where we go all out with the scallops, clams, mussels, crab, and shrimp cooked in the dried Chardonnay. Then we got the poor man's version we also make where we use clams, tuna, and vinegar... it actually does taste somewhat similar. tricks the taste buds enough anyways. I prefer linguine for it. And the fresh shredded parm! yum! Can you tell I'm hungry tonight while on my fast? lol
Never tried it- then again butter and coffee sound like mixing two things you never thought to mix- like butter and strawberry pop tarts (Yes from Family Guy) Actually did it, and it tasted kinda like a strawberry turnover- so maybe I'll try it!

Oh, sure… after that try a RedBull with margarine, or a Mountain Dew with lard! One thing Americans just don’t get enough of these days, it’s saturated fat! I get that it’s a keto thing, but I’ll have to pass on this one.
not all saturated fats are created equal.
Margarine: Unhealthy
Butter: Healthy
Soda/energy drinks: unnatural and unhealthy
Coffee: Natural and healthy
bigger difference then you might think actually. Hydrogenated oils are horrible for you, one of the most dangerous fats you can consume. Americans are fat because of carbs, sugars, preservatives, and processed premade garbage, not good wholesome fats.
Neither soda, energy drinks nor coffee are saturated fats! The definition of a saturated fat, is any fat which is solid or near solid at room temperature.
lol read your original post again and in reference to the title. you brought up saturated fats right? So I had assumed we talked about butter being added to beverages?
Maybe I didn't list it right because I didn't put a space? Anyways what I am saying is Butter and coffee are natural and healthy for consumption. Obviously none of those drinks have saturated fats in them. But Margarine and Sode/EDs are horrible. So basically drinking coffee with butter? Not bad for you. in fact... quite healthy XD
You leff out the lard! I wrote “try a RedBull with margarine, or a Mountain Dew with lard!” Clearly you misunderstood me… it’s not about the drink (even though I do NOT drink RedBull, OR Mountain Dew) precisely because of the high caloric, and acidic content of the drinks. Also, I am well aware of hydrogenated, partially hydrogenated , as well as saturated fats vs unsaturated fats, even polyunsaturated fats. And I am aware that butter in your coffee is a keto thing. It is simply disgusting TO ME! It is something that I do not like. My only point in even mentioning the fats, was to point out in MY limited life experience, it would seem replacing my choice of fat free CoffeeMate with 0% saturated fat and only a minimum of unsaturated fat, with butter which is on average 75% saturated fat and 25% monounsaturated & polyunsaturated fat, would seem like an unhealthy choice. However… my MAIN objection to butter in coffee is, again, the taste! That to me is, well… gross!
but thats the thing, fat is not unhealthy at all lol. It's a misconception. Low fat diets are more harmful than high fat diets. And the body breaks down fat better than carbs. when you consider what coffee mate has in it on the list of ingredients butter is much healthier. I used to drink coffeemate once upon a time. Then i read the ingredients on the back! XD
Butter or no butter isn't really an issue one way or another. You'd be better off with whole cream or whole milk for coffee though if we're looking at it from a health perspective. But if you like coffeemate and you haven't had to suffer obesity (which I remember seeing from your pics you dont) then it's far less of an issue. Once you've carried those fat cells for a long time its highly important to burn them as quickly and efficiently as possible in a healthy manner. Therefore I cannot have the corn syrup solids or hydrogenated oils. Plus the other blood sugar spiking ingredients it carries.
Sorry if I’ve caused confusion sweetie, I have a family history on BOTH sides of extremely high cholesterol. As such I must avoid saturated fats. Even as a younger teenager, my cholesterol was getting very high, since I’ve switched to a diet low in fat, my cholesterol is plummeting! You need to remember, we are not all built the same, and a diet that works great for you, could be deadly to another… for example (I believe) Atkins diet has you eat nothing BUT meat, starch etc… but NO carbs. If someone like me followed THAT diet I’d likely be dead of a heart attack before my 30th birthday. But perhaps for you, it would be fine? I am aware of the ingredients in the foods I eat, but I have to weigh my health regarding fat intake, to my health from the other ingredients. I also have to look at my enjoyment of those foods. What is the point of life, if you are only living to survive on disgusting food, we need to enjoy our food intake. Thus I weigh the damage from saturated fat in butter, with the ingredients in non-dairy coffee creamer. (Forgive my use of the brand Coffeemate, as I don’t use that, I just can’t remember the name, and I didn’t want to hat to walk to the kitchen, or write “non-dairy creamer”.) I hope that clears any confusion up.
Gotcha. Well for what it's worth I had a fatty liver before starting Keto and now I don't. It ended up being sugar that was my issue. If you stick to omega 3 fats you have little to worry about. If your Omega 3 to omega 6 ratio is 3-1:you will burn the fat. Also I'm just curious are you not w fan of meat? Can't tell by how you mentioned the diet being full of disgusting food lol.. but I love grass fed, grass finished ribeye steaks myself 😂
No, but I remember a joke about that being made in an old MST3K episode. Was it actual butter, or margarine? Salted or unsalted?
Huh! No! Interesting! Never have but will try. Coffee addict here, the stronger the better, so surprised I have never heard of people doing this !
Oh yeah a bulletproof coffee, I used to have it before the gym when I went in the early morning. Not had it in a long time now.

I just bought one bag to see how it is for now
@DonkeyDan some veggie fats are still amazing for you BUT all hydroneated oils are trash for your body. I still love cooking in olive oil and like it on salads and always will lol. But I only get the 100% authentic, first cold pressed EVOO or 100% extra light for cooking. I dont mess with other oils much except maybe coconut for baking. Again only the pure stuff.
All fats should be used in moderation, but vegetable oils including olive oil are a double edge sword, they certainly have nutritional value, but unfortunately lack a good amount of Linoleic acid which is what tells the adepose cells to switch off intake of fats. This means that when consumed in large amounts they will make you fatter than animal fats, on the flip side because they don't cause fat to be rejected back into the blood stream they are more heart health. Animal fats contain the correct amount of Linoleic Acid to not over fill the Adepose cells, but then reject excess fat that can cause heart issues. Fats can be a bit of a lose lose situation, which is why moderation is key. But nothing is going to make you fatter than sugar, the demon powder. The sugar industry actually carried out a really aggressive smear campaign on a researcher decades ago who published a paper which proved that sugars where what caused people to get fat and not fat, to this day people still believe its fat that makes you fat because of this campaign.
I hear it gets frothy id you blend it with butter. I can’t bring myself to do it.
I have.
Irish grass fed cow's butter.
Tasty, robust.
well.. no... what does it taste like, and how much do you use?
Great for the cholesterol, and the beneficial effect it has on your heart, too...
I've heard that butter put in your cup of coffee at 9:30 a. m. is supposed to do good for the body so who knows
that i've never heard before lol. I do fasting so everything with calories is 12-6 PM
... that just sounds like heart disease in a mug. I prefer tea anyways
butter is actually not bad for you in the least haha. That's an old belief. On the contrary it's better for you than most sources of fat. And fat in and of itself isn't the enemy... sugar and refined carbs are lol. I've been implementing lots of fats the last 8 months and no sugars or flour... I've lost 67 lbs as a result.
butter and or mct oil and chocolate powder my pear energy drink :)
I'm going to be so pissed if you just ruined my morning coffee bro.
I would like to try it, LOL! That sounds unhealthy though.
No never but now you got me curious

Yes and it was really good.
I don't like the idea of it floating on top
i will take a raincheck thanks
Dutch coffee
Sounds interesting. Maybe someday
That sounds awfully fatty
Ehh no.
you work out dont you? Try it, just once. You dont know till you've tried. Exactly as I did it, butter and monk fruit extract. Less than 1 carb per cup but now with caffeine and healthy fats. Curbs the appetite and gives more fuel! You just never know man! This one tastes like Raisin Bread toasted with melted butter, legit. I'm using Starbucks Pumpkin Spice. Normally I love French roast or Colombian or a blend of the two. But once in a while I just have to try something different. Maybe not my everyday cup but a few times a month its something special.
Yeah I workout which part of the reason why I wouldn't put butter in coffee because for one I drink a lot of coffee. And two your gonna fuck your heart and arties up putting butter in your coffee like that /=.
And I was a certified PT man so I'm pretty familiar with nutrition it one was of the courses I took.
well as you know I'm on Keto and i've lost 67 lbs over the last 8 months and um... well other things are working better now and also my hypertension is gone and cholesterol is the best it's been in about 10 years. But maybe genetics play a role with diet too. I've read that could be the case. It's working for me. Just no carbs or processed sugar. Carbs inside of 20 grams a day. But I was VERY overweight and still am. My diet will change once I hit target weight. 6'3 with target weight of 225, solid
I’m trying to diet, stopp😭😩
I prefer heavy cream cause it has water.
I like hazelnut and Mint
Umm hmm no I can honestly say I have not!
No, just whiskey now and then.
More ways to make you faster?
Nope didn't.
@awesomeguy1060
