Italians, how do you feel about Scottish people deep frying pizza?

Pizza crunch is pizza coated in batter and deep fried. They are often served with a portion of chips. Do you think this lifts pizza to a whole new gastronomic plane or does it ruin a good pizza?

Fried pizza has always been there. It is a typical food product of the central-southern regions and in particular of Lazio and Campania. The Scots are the ones who invented hot water and peddle it as their own invention.

What they do is being unable to make a real fried pizza, they put the batter on it because in this way anyone is able to fry, but already the fried suè pizza is greased, with the batter it becomes pizza with frying oil.

Deep Fried Oreos Anyone? I love pizza & thanks to you deep fried pizza is on my bucket list to try & a few minutes ago I was reading how some pizza places deep fry the pizza crust & after it comes out of the deep fryer they add the toppings & finish the pizza off in the oven.

I never heard such a thing. Deep fried pizza? That actually ruins the pizza! What wrong with a normal pizza? That would just ruin its flavor and as much as I like deep fried foods once in a while, but deep fried pizza, No! I'm a Italian! I'll stick with a regular pizza. With or without toppings either way.

I gotta say deep-fried pizza is a sacrilege. Never had it and probably never will. I usually like deep-fried foods but pizza is great the way it is without deep-frying it.
