What was an odd food combination you had as a child?

For me when I was little it was mac and cheese with lots of ketchup, pickles with chocolate sauce, spaghetti and mashed potatoes (my poor mother lol), and hot dogs in mac and cheese ( although I don't think this is a weird food combination but I was told it was weird)

I am from Montreal, we have a comfort food called Poutine.. which is french fries, curd cheese, and a gravy sauce. It's absolutely amazing if you try it

Mac and cheese with ketchup was me. Some thought that was very weird. Peanut butter, cheese, butter, and jelly sandwich.

My aunt would freeze strawberries that we picked from the farm and we also froze our persimmon and we would eat it sliced like ice cube or ice cream cake. That’s basically the only way Chinese people eat persimmon - frozen and sliced like ice cream. And I would eat seasoned orange peels - they are edible when treated properly and might be healthier than the orange itself. We also ate shrimp chips which comes by mixing ordinary shrimp powder with some other substance, a common food among Filipinos and Sri Lankan’s and Chinese groups.

I'm not sure exactly how unusual this is but my mother always made me tuna sandwiches with lots of apples mixed into the tuna and mayo. I hated it! :-D I think I wouldn't mind it so much now, but as a child, I hated the combination.

Also banana and mayo sandwiches. I hated those too. My mother was very southern (from US originally).

Im from th south too and my grandmother would do a mayo and tomato sandwich. Haven't heard about the banana and mayo one but that sounds interesting

Mayo and tomato sound awesome to me! I want to try it now. I think I would have liked that even as a little kid as I always loved tomatoes. Banana and mayo were a bit much for me though back then. I disliked that combo savory and sweet. For example, I hated Hawaiian pizza as a kid. Now it's actually one of my favorites, but I never liked sweet and salty to mix so much back then.

Well how about if I say chocolate syrup in noodles. It tasty though! And like stiring ice cream till it becomes a thick liquid. Yeah a weird method but I still do it. Ice cream becomes more tasty that way. And there are tons of combos I created and Gordon Ramsey will surely murder me if I audition myself to him with those combos.

This isn't my combination it's actually my best friend's because I remember in middle school anytime they served pizza he would dip his pizza in ketchup and I think in elementary school some of my classmates would put ranch on their pizza

i loved Lays ketchup as a kid and decided to eat it with plain white rice. It did not taste good by any means but it was tolerable
