How do you like your POPCORN?

Popcorn comes in all kinds of flavors and styles. What is your favorite style of Popcorn? How do you like to eat Popcorn?

I'm a stovetop type. Mostly I cover my popcorn with salt and spices and shake it all up (my economical way is the bowl and plate and shake it all).

But my wife has horrible tastes and she loves this horrible thing we call caramel popcorn. So sometimes I slow heat sugar and get it all amber and pour it along with salt on the popcorn and shake it all up. She has very horrible tastes. If people ate as she did without working out as much as she did, they would be so obese and die. But she works out a lot so I'm okay so far.

She has a terrible taste for salty and sweet at the same time. It's like she's trying to kill herself. She actually likes salty potato chips covered in chocolate.

But I have calculated that most women live way longer than men so maybe her habits will cause us to die about at the same time.

If i'm making it, I generally stick with oil and salt; I've been trying for years to crack what theaters do with butter, and I think the key is in the salt. If you ever find yourself making uopcorn in dedicated pot (I try not to be snobbish, but once you've had it that way, the microwave stuff pales in comparison), AVOID CORN OIL. The residue gets *everywhere* and is a ceal pain to remove. Sunflower is better, and olive is quite nice.

If it someone else's: a Chicago company called Garrett's makes what it used to call "Chicago mix" (until a lawsuit made them change the name), which is cheese popcorn mixed with caramel popcorn. It sounds kinda nasty, but it's actually REALLY good- you just have to have it mixed while it's still hot, and ideally eat it while it's still warm.

I never tried Chinese popcorn before,- Oh wait I need my glasses. I hate choke-on-pop-your-throat-corn. On rare occasions I'll eat kettle (the best) despite choking.
