Between the two choices I'd have to go chocolate chips. But if I had my choice it would be probably brownies with maybe caramel chips instead. Or nuts just to break up the chocolate taste. I've never been huge on chocolate on chocolate. I like a good balance.

Neither belongs in a brownie but if you must, then mini-M&Ms. Pecans or walnuts are good, either in the dough or just put on top before baking.
