All five of us love pistachios and avocado! I am willing to bet there are lots of other tasty and beneficial foods and I would love to hear from YOU🍽
343 opinions shared on Food & Beverage topic. Strange you should ask, I am sitting at my desktop, and about to ask about the "Food Value of the Avocado as I do like and eat a lot of them. I do try to eat fruits, (oranges, grapes, cherries (in season) and also try to get enough vegetables, but don't always do that. I grate carrots, and use cherry tomatoes in grated cabbage
Looking through the list, on the Runners World page, I do eat many of those things, but do for the most part do not eat nuts. Bell pepper, baby spinach, and those things I do eat. Good selection of foods there.

I liked those until you mentioned beets oof can't love it.
- +1 y
@Imsmurter1 bitter vegetable are great for you liver. Beets are better pickled.
- +1 y
We all like golden beets, only our oldest and my husband and I enjoy the red/purple (kids are weird)
- +1 y
I've never tried the golden beets. Golden beats do sound good.
- +1 y
I bit into a canned beet once for a salad. It immediately made me nauseous. It's not bitterness cause I can handle broccoli rabe and radicchio. It's simply something with the earthiness of the beets.
- +1 y
@Imsmurter1 beats take a acquired taste. I grew up eating beats on the farm. Pickled beets go great with salads.
- +1 y
@Imsmurter1 the canned beets are definitely a step lower in flavor than the freshly prepared, maybe give the golden beets carry. Peel, dice and sautée in olive oil
- +1 y
*golden beets a try
- +1 y
Okay but maybe they’re less nutrition gold
- +1 y
How you prepared your your beets I will have to try.
Bananas.
So basically what i do is 15 minute before a workout i hydrate myself with 24 ounces of water. The purpose of this is to have less water breaks during practice.
Drinking a lot of water thid soon before aerobic exercises can cause cramping. So to prevent that, i eat a banana.
All the potassium, magnesium and calcium are 3 of the 4 nutrients that can help for cramp prevention

I love all kinds of fruits and veggies that I can get my hands on. Fresh from the farm/garden.
carrots, spinach, sweet potatoes, swish chard, string beans, all kinds of melons.
star fruit, logons, persimmons, pears, pineapples, mangos, strawberries…04 Reply- +1 y
The spinach and kale are a hard sell with our kids🤣
- +1 y
I started out by telling them to eat veggies first. Then protein, then carb.
Took my daughter a long time to like salad…now they have build a good healthy habit to eat fruits and veggies.
It takes time, and discipline to raise good healthy children.
I don’t believe when young moms says my kids won't eat this or that… the result is… they are allowing kids to take control. - +1 y
Our kids try to take control, but they are very good vegetable and fruit eaters. They will eat the uncooked spinach leaves in the salad, our youngest would eat fruit and carrots all day long!
- +1 y
They all try lol. Good to start them young.

Salmon and eggs are a great breakfast!10 Reply592 opinions shared on Food & Beverage topic. Do peanuts, pecans, and walnuts count, or mixed nuts in general?
14 Reply- +1 y
I'm not sure about peanuts. We can't have peanuts or anything that has been processed in a facility with peanuts in our home due to an allergy. I think any raw vegetable or nut is better than any processed food.
- +1 y
I think you are correct. There are a variety of nuts listed on the runners world website article I put in the update column

05 Reply- +1 y
It's still lean protein... in a delicious coating!
- +1 y
How do you do your check. I like mine grilled or smoked. I also enjoy rotisserie chicken
- +1 y
@Pudsmucker I like my fried chicken. . . fried!
- +1 y
I tried something different I use coconut oil to fry my chicken in last few months. It gives the chicken a different flavor. I I like also country fried chicken. You know the type chicken breaded dipped an egg breaded again maybe dipped in egg and breading once more. Then deep fat fried in a skillet. When it's done I make delicious gravy from the chicken fat and breading little flour an milk and stir until thickened. It's what you call country fried chicken
- +1 y
@Pudsmucker You're preaching to the choir, son! I grew up with a country momma in the kitchen.

Lightbulb grew 2 beautiful, yummy water melons. they are the size of a basketball.
It’s not exactly yellow … more like dark yellowish/orangish color with seeds. It’s pretty tasty. We were surprised that it didn’t get eaten by other animals. - +1 y
@midnightmoon05 yes, I have grown watermelons in the past. This year I had pumpkin plants all over the garden but only got three pumpkins.
- +1 y
Do you eat the pumpkins?
We were so excited to see a few pumpkins the size of a small soccer ball…eventually, some animals came and stole/ate them. Pretty disappointed. Somehow, they didn’t go for watermelons. - +1 y
@midnightmoon05 no we carve them for Halloween.

+1 yDragon fruit
03 Reply- +1 y
Yess! Still working on making it popular with our kids, kinda pricey too
- +1 y
The problem is the limited import and shelf life. Florida and california has some orchards growing dragon fruit, but the problem is the flavor deteriorates if not eaten with few days of picking. A great deal tends to come from the Philippines where it is more common.
