Do you make your own pastry from scratch?

Today I made a tarte alasacienne with a pâte brisée base. I incorporated pumpkin spice rather than vanilla to make it more seasonal.

I'm not a pastry snob and will buy a pack if I just want to make a simple pie or quiche but I like to make from scratch for desserts.

I always make pastry from scratch

I usually do but occasionally buy it

I rarely make it except for special occasions

I never use pastry.

If you mean pastry like pie dough, croissant, etc., then very, very rarely. But I do make a lot of sweets and desserts and breads from scratch. It is so incredibly fulfilling.

My mom could but, like a spoiled fool, i never learned how…from her. She left me her bread bowl that she bought just before I was born and her homemade pastry cloth. I’m just starting to put them to use now.

I made a cheesecake from scratch once. Juice wasn’t really worth the squeeze. Ell oh ell! Seems to me that graham cracker crust would be a sight easier than a pastry crust. So i have no interest in making pastries from scratch.

It looks good 👌. 95% of all the food we do at home is made from scartch, homemade is the best.

No option for me!! :( I have tried to make pastry from scratch, even with a chef's tutalage but it never works. I always use pre-mix
