This evening we'll be eating  vitel tonné , which is a popular dish in my area - cold lamb meat slices with tuna sauce, mayonnaise and greens. I like it, especially homemade when I make the sauce myself.

I'm not sure what's a typical meal here but there's definitely a fondness for comfort food like curries, chilli con carne or pasta. The dish we're most known for is cawl, a simple soup made from lamb, leek swede, potatoes and parsnips.

What is a typical meal like from your country?

There's no official recipe, different families will cut the veg anything from little cubes to great big chunks but one things certain, when the big pan comes out you're eating the same thing for the next 3 days. The worst version was school dinner cawl which had grisly lamb, half cooked veg and a stock that tasted like dishwater. The best is the last bit that'd welded to the bottom of the pan after 3 days.
