I enjoy red wine. My wife and I used to go to a wine tasting twice a year and buy bottles at a discount. We got to taste varietals from around the world.

I like cabernet, zin, syrah, petite syrah, merlo, malbec, sangiovese, chianti, nebbiolo, tempranillo, and anything good. Any varietal can be delicious if made well.

My wife and I live in a rural part of northern California and there are some excellent wineries very nearby. And we're only a couple of hours from Napa and Sonoma.

I'm not that into white wines but they can be enjoyable on occasion.

I also really like dessert wines and port.

Sort of. I love Moscato. Seven Daughters is my favorite. The Il Duca is my next favorite.

There also the Del Rio Vineyard Jolee rose that I love.

Beyond that I'll pass or take a glass of white to be polite.

  I strongly urge you to try the Jolee. The price is really good but you have to get it shipped from Del Rio. But so worth it.

I like wine, but my husband and I gave up alcohol when our oldest child entered high school. The youngest is almost done with high school, but it's been so long that I'm afraid to try alcohol again. I was already a light weight to begin with.
