I sound so ole school asking this 😂 I’m in my 20’s but I’ve never been an app person. Plus i prefer to do everything in cash. I’ve only used Uber on my trip to NC and that was 2-3 years ago. But I’ve never used Uber Eats. Can i not pay for anything in cash? Like does my actual card have to be attached to the app cause i dont trust that shit lol. I really dont even trust the driver and am tempted to just go pickup whatever I order. I was on the verge of dating this one guy who was an ubereats driver and he used to accept ppls orders then abandon them because the drive was too far and so on. It was pretty jacked up and I don’t want to have to pay for something that doesn’t arrive. He also used to look all up in their plates HOPING they didn't show in time for the order so that he could drive off and keep it. He was so cringe lmao and I felt bad for those folks. Thats only one of several reasons he and I don’t talk anymore #FeelFreeToList

Mind you I have six cafes to the right of my front door and six to the left, not counting takeaway outlets. Plus there is a supermarket directly across the road choc full of frozen meals if I am willing to cook. I count heating frozen food as cooking by the way.
Despite this I am constantly surprised by the amount of ubereats being delivered to my apartment building.
These food delivery services kill cafes. Soon it will get to the point of kitchenless seatless tableless food factories with delivery vans heating up food on the way to you.
DIE UBEREATS DIE.

Lol i prefer to eat at home then out. But i prefer to go get the food myself instead of the crazy delivery costs
- +1 y
I gave them like $50
- +1 y
Yea check the update

02 Reply- +1 y
I hope that happens here because my order was i complete af
- +1 y
*incomplete
+1 yOk so basically you order food, someone accepts the food (like if they’re in the area they’ll accept that account) then they go to the place where the foods at, they take the food to you and they get paid through the app.
12 Reply- +1 y
Yea i just meant in terms of the pay method but i think i finally got it
- +1 y
Ooo lol 😂
+1 yAdd your postcode or zip code. Look for local restaurants in the area.
Order then pay above and beyond the normal price on your card... I'm not sure if it takes PayPal but if you have that that works too04 Reply- +1 y
I dont do apps so i dont have any type of electronic pay stuff. I dont even remember what i used for uber in NC but i only used uber that one week and never again lol.
- +1 y
Oooh fair enough if you're worried about your account you can get temporary cards where you put like £50 or something on then once it's used you can discard of it
- +1 y
Yep thats what i was already looking into 😂 they have $25 gift cards and i want one of those since i fear the tax will take me over the amount
- +1 y
Ahh I see.. Good luck

+1 yIt’s not worth it unless you plan to use it a lot. There are a number of fees for every order, plus tip, which you CAN pay in cash but your order will be fucked up every step of the way because providers have learned to accept their tip UPFRONT, despite the quality of the product or service. I dumped all those apps and i think significantly less of people who use them regularly. It’s almost literally highway robbery and fools just don’t realize how badly they’re being ripped off.
15 Reply- +1 y
I was only gona use it this once cause some idiot gave me a free holiday voucher. Ideally i wouldn't use a food app ever
- +1 y
I’d regift it to someone who uses it, or sell it if you want something for it. You can’t proceed without giving them credit card info, and you can’t remove that information ever. There have been tons of fraudulent charges and fees too. Another part of the reason i gave them up, too many orders partly or completely wrong or ruined, and lots of incorrect or completely fraudulent charges. If you’re not vigilant with the card you use, they’ll just keep draining your account. If you are vigilant, they’re SLOW to credit you for mistakes and sometimes never do. Nothing you can do about it legally because of the terms of service agreement you have to approve to join.
All that said, i HAVE used them occasionally when i was drunk. Even getting pimped for $70 beats $10,000 for a DUI! Plus i’m way less fussy about quality when i’m drinking. Ell oh ell! - +1 y
But i removed my credit card info after i came back from NC. Back then i only used uber but now that i log into uber eats, it still recognizes me by phone number but doesn't show my old payment method attached
- +1 y
Well, i don’t think they can automatically update an expired card. So there’s that. But if you deleted an active card, that’s news to me. Still not going back! Ha!
- +1 y
That could be why. The card mightve expired but honestly unsure. I dint login to uber ever and rather not. But i just noticed this uber eats is somehow connected
- 787 opinions shared on Food & Beverage topic.
+1 yYou just download the app, and then it shows you the restaurants in your area. Then you pick a restaurant, and then you order from their menu. And then you place your order! (With your credit card.)
Just make sure to keep your phone on you so that you will receive the notification that your order has arrived.
That guy who you were talking to sounds like a terrible person.05 Reply- +1 y
Im using gift cards thank Lord and not my personal card. And yea it was one of many things he did
- +1 y
Oh- nice.
Ah. I see. - +1 y
by the way, how do you not have soda in the house already? Lol. Was somebody slackin' on the last grocery trip?
- +1 y
I try not to buy more than 2 at a time. My sis and I drink a 2 liter in a day and a half lol. If i bought a lot, all would be gone in a short time
- +1 y
@DizzyDesii So the issue is self-control, then. Lol
I recommend using privacy. com for online orders, so you can avoid using your bank card/cards numbers & after the purchases go through you can pause the cards.
12 Reply- +1 y
Oh wow
+1 ySo I think yog can get a PayPal cross payment so you don’t have to give them any account info directly. Or like Apple Pay. But I get it. It is supper cringe and those companies are always getting stuff leaked.
014 Reply- +1 y
I dont use paypal or any app. But i just went and got some uber eats gift cards to use as backup pay
- +1 y
Leaked how?
- +1 y
I mean I can’t mention any specific times but I feel like I have heard about them having leaks.
- +1 y
And yeah what about apple pay?
- +1 y
I dont use any apps nor electronic pay. Im a cash person
- +1 y
Oh I see. Yeah I don’t think there are any apps that except payments in cash like Uber eats. You could check grub hub.
- +1 y
I specifically have gift cards for ubereats. I won't be buying food on app again outside of this
- +1 y
Damn! I mean you could also sell them on Facebook or something so that you still get the money but I am pretty sure that you have to use your own card to get on that being said if you open an account t use the card and then cancel your account your info might have a better chance of being berried rather then leaked.
- +1 y
I dont use social media outside of GaG
- +1 y
Lol! ThT makes sense too! 😏😉
- +1 y
I’m sure that you could also just ask around and sell them to someone.
- +1 y
Its already in my wallet. Not lookin to sell dude
- +1 y
I’m just giving you options.
- +1 y
I only really wanted to know if they accepted cash pay but i see they dont
Anonymous(45 Plus)+1 yHey if you live in Australia pretty soon you won't have to worry about this as I understand they're going fully automated through drone delivery with door dash. So you'll only have to worry about the person making your food spitting on it like the good old days. 🤣
02 Reply- +1 y
I dont wanna be anywhere run by drones. Thats scary
Opinion Owner+1 yWhy? They not carrying bombs, just food. Unless you don't count Taco Bell.🤣
Ubereats is good. I use it all the time. But then again I am in the UK. I don't know how things work in the US. In the UK I trust ubereats and I never use cash.
05 Reply- +1 y
I just love the look and feel of cash lol
- +1 y
I’ve been a cash person since i got my first $1 bill as a kid 😂 I only use debit when mandatory like booking a hotel. Other than that i use giftcards and have never used a credit card ever lol
4.9K opinions shared on Food & Beverage topic. I would be embarrassed to pay for a pizza with a credit card. If my wife was there and we were still dating she would think I was a real bummer to be walking around without even 20 bucks on me.
014 Reply- +1 y
Its an app tho so they dont allow cash to pay only cash to tip
- +1 y
😂😂😂
- +1 y
People in my area get upset if you use cash. They have signs at the register “use exact change or credit/debit”
- +1 y
@dustybiker I usually have exact change. I hsve never had a debit card and have two credit cards I use for lsrge purchases or on line shopping. I went into a parking garage and on the way out there was nobody in the booth. There was a machine that wanted a credit card. I just refused. There was an intercom so I talked with some guy in the office. I told him I was paying in cash. He said that the machine only rook credit cards. I told him i was either paying cash or I would drive my truck through the gate. He came down and took the money but he was pissed.
- +1 y
@dustybiker yea a lot here ask for exact change which is fine but i rather that over a card
- +1 y
Could always use the prepaid ones, safer than cash. You can have the card frozen if stolen.
- +1 y
@dustybiker i recommend gift cards where nothing is in your name
- +1 y
That works too. I just worry about carrying cash on a bike, personally.
- +1 y
@dustybiker I went to an MLB ballpark last summer. they want to do away with cash. They no longer have paper tickets. I don't know what people without smartphones will do. ? Judging by the lack of long lines at the beer counter I am not the only one who refused to go along with this.
- +1 y
That is a silly choice. I dislike relying that heavily on technology myself. Mistakes happen and it can be harder to prove.
- +1 y
I would be in lined to screen grab the purchase process.
- +1 y
*inclined
+1 yNever done Uber eats but I had friends do it and pretty much you buy food either from a fast food chain or Uber eats menu and a driver picks it up and delivers it to you and you by your cell phone.
01 Reply- +1 y
I did. Check update
Not sure, I’ve never used it either…. but my son has run shotgun with one of his friends who drove for Uber eats a little bit.
I prefer getting take out and picking it up myself. Occasionally I’ll get pizza delivery though.
01 Reply- +1 y
Same but i just tried because it was a gift
+1 yI was a driver and it's alright as a driver but I don't know how it's like to order, I ordered once and it was fine
06 Reply- +1 y
Well two bad experiences is enough for me to learn

Can you see my pfp, it's shows that it's gone on my screen

It shows me anon and I hope it's just glitching
- +1 y
The sites been doing it all week. I can't even see the girlsaksguys logo at the top of the browser
- +1 y
Oh OK thanks, as long as its their fuck up and not mine
1.7K opinions shared on Food & Beverage topic. No idea. I don't like strangers showing up at my house.
14 Reply- +1 y
I want to say i dont trust strangers delivering my food but I allow them to make it in the kitchen and deliver shit like pizza so ig its technically no different
- +1 y
Oh you mean like car wise?
+1 yDownload the app
Tell them how to get your money
Order away
011 Reply- +1 y
I used it. Check update
- +1 y
So the restaurant screwed up, so you punished the driver?
- +1 y
The driver was punished because of his attitude when i kindly said (with laughter) that my food wasn't in the bag. I ended up spending the last of my uber cash on a second order from a different restaurant and i gave her his tip
- +1 y
I wasn't there, so I don't know who had the worst attitude. Drivers drive and cooks cook.
- +1 y
And he had an attitude. Even in the app you text the driver about what to pickup and he didn't do his job. He brought one box so thats on him
- +1 y
He brought what the restaurant gave him. Trust me, not only did your driver not get paid, HE paid out of his own pocket to bring you food.
And you are now flagged. lol - +1 y
He got the electronic tip thats practically forced but i took back my cash handout. The electronic wasn't really anything so i was going to tip him big. And i dont care if i am flagged because ubereats is trash and i deleted the app after i gave his tip to my second driver who actually did her job and double checked everything like i asked
- +1 y
And i paid out of my own pocket for food i didn't get. I dont feel bad for him for choosing a mediocre job. Thats on him
- +1 y
Now you're grasping at straws. You criticize your delivery experience, but then blame people who work to deliver to you. Maybe you should just cook your own food.
- +1 y
And maybe I do. Like i said in the post, i wanted to try it because of a gift someone gave. But it wasn't enough to cover an actual experience so i went out and bought uber cash. I spent my money just like he did. Fair game. Like i said, he had a bad attitude in general. The woman after him did not. I said what i said and i tipped who i tipped
- +1 y
I hope you tipped at LEAST 300%.
+1 yNever used them. Three times the cost of a meal… I’ll just skip the meal. Eat a banana.
01 Reply- +1 y
It was overpriced and they got my order wrong twice in the same night. I blame the restaurant more than them but yea never again
994 opinions shared on Food & Beverage topic. I prefer door dash. Uber eats is too expensive. You have to have your card attached to the app but there is an option to do pickup.
02 Reply- +1 y
Thankfully it didn't make me attach my bank card. Im using a voucher and i just went and bought and extra give card so i got about $50 worth to use
+1 yIt's usually fine but pretty over priced. I'd use whatever food delivery app is second place wherever you live because Uber is run by assholes.
01 Reply- +1 y
Im only using this because of a gift voucher someone gave
I use Door Dash quit a bit because there is nobody to relieve me for a lunch break or I have to shut the business down for an hour.
05 Reply- +1 y
Oh wow. And can anything be paid for in cash
- +1 y
Yea i saw you can tip in cash but i dont think you can pay in cash. Thats so silly
- +1 y
I assume uber eats can only be delivered by uber eats drivers. I know pizza places have their own company drivers and they do allow me to pay cash but a lot of them dont deliver to the countryside

12 Reply- +1 y
Lmao yea i def noticed the food is about $10 more than in stores
- +1 y
