I would say the issue is fries and not burnt fries. You might get similar results if you just asked about fries in general. Woman have more pressure to be skinny so their threshold for junk food is higher - it has to taste very very very good - or they won't eat it cause it makes them fat. Men are less likely to be judged for their looks so they have a lower threshold for taste when they choose to eat junk food. If it tastes even moderately good, they will eat it cause being fat is not a big deal. That is my theory.
