The only thing you do by eating 1 or 2 big meals is you cause your bodies blood sugar to swing wildly and confuse your body which will just thwart your efforts.
Take it from me. I'm someone who works hard and doesn't like eating a bunch of little meals. I'd much rather have a big meal and then bust my ass for 10 hrs.
I lost 70lbs. And had to retrain myself how to eat properly to lose that weight. The best advice I can give is 1. Eat at a caloric deficit 2. Do at least 20-30 minutes of cardio a day (you don't need to be in a gym for hrs.) 3. And this is VERY important, GET QUALITY SLEEP. This is the most neglected part of weight loss. Stress hormones reduce when you sleep. Your body WILL fight you tooth and nail if you don't get quality sleep. I worked mon. Through Fri., eat, right and exercise. Not get much sleep and also not lose any weight. I'd always get discouraged but stayed the course. Come the weekend I'd catch up on the sleep I wasn't getting and by Monday I'd have dropped the weight and met my weight loss goal of 2 lbs. For the week.
That's another thing, be REALISTIC 2lbs. A week is good. 1 is acceptable. You don't put weight on quickly, you ain't going to take it off quickly. Be patient! This is about feeling good more than looking good. This is about being healthier.

The idea is to get your engine burning in a regular, systematic way. Large meals twice a day defeats that purpose and makes you lethargic. Think of it as stoking an engine and keeping the fire at an even, efficient burn rate.

Multiple small portions a day, will help one to lose weight and take a 15-min walk a day.
